Poured from a 12oz bottle into a snifter leaving no beer but a sediment coated bottom. Date stamp: bottled on 13 June 2013.

A - Cloudy orange apricot color with a small and weak white head. Very little lacing to be seen.

S - Apricots (not fresh but not artificial); Belgian yeast; alcohol esters; tropical fruits.

T: tart-sweet-juicy fruit flavor from the arpicot puree and the Belgian yeast. Lightly tart and sweet taste. Bold flavor.

M - Medium carbonation and a medium body with a juicy mouthfeel.

O: Mpre Belgian character than expected; not that they over did the Belgian yeast but they didn't hold back either. Bold, juicy and fruity with very good bitter-sweet-tart balance. Worth seeking out.

Happy Anniversary LFB!

12 oz bottle poured into a Lakefront tulip.
6% ABV, Bottled 06/19/13 printed on shoulder.

A - Deeply golden-hued, this cloudy Belgian-style beer requires a tall pour to generate some head. The small, firm foam that rises sticks around for a bit before dropping to a halo of ivory suds.

S - Tender dried apricots and Belgian yeast give the aroma of this beer a wonderful summer aura that develops as it warms up. Lemongrass, white pepper and earthy clay esters blanket the sweet pilsner and caramel-like malts with a lingering finish of light candi sugar.

T - Decidedly Belgian yeast flavored, this assertive beer packs a wallop of flavor, kick-started by a juicy, relaxed level of apricots which succumb to the muscular yeast profile. Tons of white pepper and clay esters give this anniversary beer an overall earthy feel that's flanked by notes of coriander and punctuated with malt sweetness.

M - Heavy carbonation rounds out the soft, dense body of this sweet brew, trailing off with a dry spiciness which lingers on the tongue with importance.

O - Belgian all the way, the yeast profile is boisterous, standing above the softer, smooth notes of apricot which bring a delightful and playful level of summer into this beer. Complex spiciness, attributed to the yeast, caps off the beer with a refreshing and drinkable finish; a wonderful summer treat!

This is not a good beer to follow up an IPA. It is on the other hand a very tasty beer. Very crisp and flavorful. It has a fruity zing to it that is easy to taste. I would definitely recommend this beer on a hot summer day, on the porch with some friends. I don't want to say its not original but this is one that everyone will like.

12 oz. bottle, with bottled on date 06/13/2013 printed on the bottleneck. My third of Lakefront Brewery's 25th Anniversary series of beers. Expectations are pretty decent; the premise sounds nice.

Poured into a clear balloon snifter.

A - Pours a bright citrusy golden orange colored body with one finger of quickly dissipating white head. Lots of dark sediment floating in the glass. Slightly viscous and muddy appearance, but it looks okay.

S - Smell is comprised of musty yeast, apple / pear / cider, some buttery diacetyl smell, vague notes of indistinct spice, and some faint fruity apricot puree. It's honestly a pretty poor aroma.

T - Taste follows the nose - some sweetened dried apricot puree is noticeable, apples / pear / banana, musty earthy yeast presence, & some malt breadiness to keep everything in check. Some slight funk is noticeable on the end. The apricot comes through subtle, but it is definitely there.

M - Feel is smooth enough, easy drinking, slightly thick and heavy on the finish. Mildly sticky and syrupy. Poor carbonation that dies out quickly, leaving the beer with a flat appearance.

Overall, this is definitely the poorest of the three 25 anniversary beers I have had from these guys, but it isn't bad. Not something I would seek out again, but I'm glad to have 3 more bottles of this to check out.

poured 12oz bottle into teku glass.

A - Dark hazy orange apricot color with a nice 2 finger white head. Thin ring around the glass after the head drops. No lacing to be seen.

S - Nice fresh apricot smell, not medicinal or artificial. Good Belgian yeast and floral notes. Light sweet malts round it off.

T - Nice big juicy apricot and fruit flavor balanced out by Belgian yeast and a light sweet taste. Some earthiness and floral notes, with a touch of spice round off this tasty brew. I enjoy the flavor combination.

M - Good carbonation and a medium body with a big juicy mouthfeel. Slick and wet for a easy drink.

O - A bit surprised by the score on here at my time of review. Those that reviewed it have given it a much better score than the "Hads." Nice Belgian style with a very nice apricot flavor. This was more enjoyable that I thought it would be because of how juicy and bold it is. It is not at all weak in flavor. Good choice for a summer anniversary beer. Well done!
