Terrance’s beer lands in the glass straw-colored with a mild biscuity Kölsch malt, spicy noble hop aroma, and subtle fruity esters that rise out of the rocky white head. Slight peppery and earthy hop flavors lead to a crisp, German lager finish with a lasting pleasant hop spiciness.

Glass: Ayinger willi glass
Lakefront's Terrance is a solid kolsch-style ale, with a fairly clean, grain and biscuit-like flavor accentuated by some spicy and lemon-like hops. Pleasing, straightforward, and easy to drink in large quantities, this would be an excellen session beer. While there are kolschs I prefer over this, if this were a six-pack regular, I'd probably acquire it with regularity.
Pours a 2cm tall head of clean, white foam that's composed of small bubbles, yielding a frothy appearance. Retention is about average, the foam lasting slightly over one minute in a quick decline to a thin ring around the perimeter of the glass and a small island of lace resting atop the center of the body. Lacing is minimal, a few small dots cling to the sides of the glass. Beer is a dark golden yellow color, with light bringing out pale yellow-orange hues. Carbonation is visible through the transparent body,
Aroma of lemon zest mixed with grainy and biscuit-like pale malts. Not particularly complex, but pleasant to me and appetizing.
Flavor is of big, biscuity and grainy pale malts with gentle bread-like sweetness and mildly spicy and lemon-like hops. Front of palate detects mild spicy and lemon-like hops with white bread-like sweetness and a touch of grainy malts. Mid-palate of strong biscuit and grainy pale malt flavors undercurrents of spicy and lemon-like hops, and subdued bitterness. Back of palate finds mild bitterness, lemon-like hops, and pale malt sweetness. Aftertaste is of dry biscuity and grainy malts with excellent depth of character, and just a touch of lemon.
Beer is medium-light in body, with carbonation of medium to medium-high intensity, resulting in a mouthfeel that is somewhat fizzy, then foamy (1/2) and slightly smooth (1/2): in essence fairly crisp, yet not insubstantial. This is a sign of good recipe-building, considering the low malt content of the beer. Closes dry, with light stickiness on the palate and lips.

Appearance: Extremely light Jasmine/yellow body with an ice-white/crisp ivory head; a bit lacklustre, to be honest
Aroma: Pale malt, light grass, and an overall 'breadiness' nose.
Taste: Light, faint hops with a spicy and somewhat fruit/citrus (can't pinpoint which, exactly) undercurrent.
Mouthfeel: Bitter and crisp with a somewhat sweet aftertaste.
Overall: 'Terrance' was my first Kölsch, and while I did enjoy it, I was not completely impressed; I think my unfamiliarity with the style caused me to expect a beer with a bit more...'oomph' (for want of a better word). However, for those seeking a crisp and refreshing beer to relax with - you can add 'Terrance' to the list.

22oz bottle. Poured out a clear, golden yellow color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of bread crust, caramel and floral notes. Sweet caramel and toffee taste with mild bitterness.
