Served in a standard shaker Glass. Glass of cold water on the side to sip from periodically.
Appearance: As served the beer is a golden light copper color with a ¼" white head that recedes quickly to a ring and layer of patchy foam on the surface. The patchy foam lasts for most of the beer and a small ring of foam is present even to the last sip. Sipping leaves a few scattered legs and speckles of lacing for most of the beer.
Smell: The faint aroma is fresh and lightly malty with no real trace of hops showing except for a faint floral note here and there.
Taste: The flavor shows some nice honey malt sweetness and riding over some noticeable earthy hop bitterness.
Mouthfeel: The mouth feel is medium to light bodied with a soft silky feel from the gentle, persistent carbonation. The finish is medium to long and begins with a fading of the sweetness that rides on the back of the earthy bitter character. Slowly the hops move forward but also fade away, leaving a nice gentle dryness at the end that invites another sip.
Drinkability: I thought this a nicely drinkable beer. While not the best Maibock I've had it's also not the worst. I enjoyed it alone and I certainly enjoyed as a counterpoint to the West African style Curry that I had for lunch during the last half of the beer. I'll certainly be happy to have this one again sometime.

I don't know how I feel about this beer. My first time ever having it, and I'm a little conflicted. It poured orange into my mug with a barely there offwhite head. Smelled a little citric, which surprised me. Taste was...tasty. I got some citrus, but not an overpowering amount like in a white ale. Very light tasting, despite the high ABV. You don't taste the alcohol at all, and I could put a ton of these down. Was in a rush today, so I only had time for one, but I'm definitely going to need to try another when I'm in next week.

I was able to enjoy this on tap at Trio's in Lancaster.
a: Pours a clear reddish amber. A thin white head disappears quickly, and there is not much hint of lacing throughout.
s: Malty but balanced by fruity hops. Based on reviews of earlier versions I was surprised by the aromas I could detect. Slight hint of citrus.
t/m: close to the smell - mostly malty with hints of fruity hops. The malt character emerges as it warms, but never really stands up.
d: A pretty easy sipper. I found this very drinkable and it went well with food. Personally, this is one of the better brews I have had from LBC in a while.

Served on-tap at the Harrisburg brewpub.
A: The bock is an orange-brown amber color, more subtle bourbon brown notes than crisp orange. A small head lingers for a bit after serving before whimpering away.
S: The beer has a robust toasted malt aroma, strong with a sweet edge that makes me think of honey. Very appetizing.
T: The taste rings a tad bit thin, when compared to the scent. The toasted malts are the focal point and they do have a sweeter touch but the flavor is rather fleeting and quickly leaves you with a standard lager flavor.
M: The mouthfeel is, at times, full and flavorful with touches of excess malts. At other times it is far more run of the mill.
D: The abv is relatively high, so I'd stick with a glass or two. A good Spring seasonal, but you are better off with the Rare Rooster.

It came to me a rather deep amber, clear and flashy, with a finger of tight white head that soon dropped away. Fine lacing clung to the inside of the glass.
The aroma seemed like an afterthought, with a wisp of toasted malt essence on board, but especially thin and ethereal.
Upon tasting, there came a very fundamental toasted malt character, slightly berry sweet, and with caramel and a hint of brown sugar in tow. An indistinct but notable hop presence lit the middle ground with a drift of gentle floral spiciness. The finish was a residual malt and mild bitterness duo, lingering for a spell. The flavor was about as basic as you'd expect for the style, and nicely done.
Not unlike the aroma, the light bodied flow was especially thin and left little mark of itself behind.
This beer has some strengths, and some weaknesses, and it suffers for the latter, in spite of the actual good flavor. I love a good bock, and this delivers on the palate, but it goes away in a flash, and the nose is cursory at best. Still, the taste helps make it a drinkable beer. The issue is, I'd prefer my beers to be drinkable as an experience, not just because it tastes good. It was not problem finishing this one, but a second is not likely to happen.

Served as a crystal-clear medium amber beer with moderate white head. Smell is almost non-existent, and even after several attempts, and as the beer warmed, there was just nothing to be found. Taste is significant for toasted malt, with a istonct hop character also found. Finish is mainly hoppy with the alcohol content also to be found. OK, but nothing spectactular.

More from the Bill Moore Lagering Dept.:
This one had a thick, foamy, tawny head when placed in front of me. It had great clarity in a deep-amber colored liquid. There was not a lot going on in the nose, almost surprisingly so and certainly disappointing. In fact, I passed my mug around to others and nobody could detect anything as far as a smell was concerned. The mouthfeel was light and almost watery. It had a malty graininess in the mouth and the finish had a light, lingering sweetness. It was okay, but there are better seasonals available at LNCBC.

Appears a dark golden amber with a fluffy white head. Leaves nice, sticky white lacing on the glass.
Smell is of sweet malt with a a light roasted smell and a touch of honey.
Taste is sweet with a touch of bitterness and a mild grainy taste to it.
Very light bodied with a mild alcohol taste and malty sweetness on the finish with a pleasant light hop bite.
Finger licking good.

The beer pours a dark gold/ light amber color with a thin white lace head. The aroma is good. It has a light feel, but with a sli ght malty sweetness. The taste is good as well. It has a sweet malty flavor that is not too intense, but enough to give it some character. It is quite refreshing. It goes down easy and finishes sweet with the slight presence of hops. The mouthfeel is fine. It is a low bodied beer with good carbonation. This is a good maibock. It's light and full of flavor; a good drinker.

Pint at the Drafting Room in Springhouse, PA.
Big white head, large bubbles, froathy, held strong, left a little scattered lace.
Hazy golden wheat colored beer.
Light aroma, spring meadow, pale malts.
Light body, creamy, a bit of citrus hops, light grainyness
Finish was clean. Overall a light, and refreshing beer. Almost over powered by my Caesar salad.
