Pours a rich copper with some reddish highlights. Rich off white head that does not want to go away and laces well down the glass. The aroma is initially of citrus with a bit of pine. The citrus is grapefruity but with a bit of sweet orange oil in the mix. Taste is interesting. Not as hoppy as the nose would have indicated. Some intial sweetness comesthrough in a caramel malt undertone. This sweetness definitly helps balance out the hoppiness of the beer. Finishes more hoppy with the pine and citrus hop flavours coming to the forefront.
Carbonation is medium with pretty fine bubbles that help clean up the palate between sips. Drinkability is quite high. This was great on tap at the Virginia Beer Fest, and it is still pretty darn tasty out of the bottle. Definitly recommended
