Serving Type: 12oz bottle. Cool label features a boar with horns. Poured hard into a pint glass at 50 degrees F. Most beers are served too cold to truely appreciate its taste, smell, and head development.
Appearance: Clear copper with a nice two finger head. The head fades fairly quickly but the nice lacing lasts. Bubbles rise from bottom of the glass until the beer is gone.
Smell: A subtle but very pleasing sweet hop aroma. I can not get enough of this sweet smelling stuff!
Taste: More malty flavor than I expected based on its hoppy scent. It reminds me of a very nice lager. It is nicely carbonated with some nice mild hop undertones. Its has almost 8% alcohol but it is super smooth. A six pack of this beer is almost equal to drinking twelve guinness draft bottles. Food highly recommended.
Mouthfeel: A lightly textured beer with nice carbonation. Smooth and refreshing.
Drinkability: This beer is way too smooth to have a 7.9% ABV (be warned). I would not call this an American IPA due to its low hoppiness. But the aromas are definately hoppy. This would be an excellent choice for introducing newbees to the awesome and varied world of the elusive hop god.
Overall a nice offering from the beautiful Lancaster Co. PA. A good beer if your in the mood for a milder beer with a nice sweet hop aroma. Well done LBC.
