Appearance: Nice rich copper color. Nice frothy, creamy head.
Smell: Exceptional. Hoppy, floral and fruity. I could sit and breathe in this beer for an hour, if it wasn't so tasty.
Taste: Tastes like it smells. Some bitterness, but the fruity hop flavor is the main characteristic. Some IPA's have an overly-bitter aftertaste, but not this one.
Mouthfeel: Very smooth, but crisp and refreshing at the same time.
Drinkability: One's definitely never enough, but the high alcohol content forces me to limit myself to 3 at most. Too bad.
Overall this is one of my favorite beers of all time. I'm surprised at the wide range of reviews on this. I can only think that those who gave it a bad review must have had an old bottle, or just don't like the style. I find many similarities between this and Bell's Two Hearted Ale, but I'd rank Hop Hog slightly higher.
