I really enjoy the smell, taste and feel of LBC's Double Chocolate Milk Stout. As expected, the chocolate and coffee flavors really stand out in the aroma as you take it in. It provides a nice, warm, inviting scent. It has a dark complexion and a short, tan head. It drinks well because it has a good balance; their Double Chocolate is not too heavy, not too sweet, not too bitter, and not too strong.

This is really an outstanding brew and I wish it weren't just a seasonal.

Had this on tap at the Harrisburg Brewpub and loved it. It poured dark as pitch with a fluffy tan head. The first thing that struck me was the strong chocolate on the nose, I also get a subtle grassy note which gave it a pleasant freshness. The chocolate is strong on the palate along with an underlying sweetness, perhaps from the lactose? It finishes clean with a lingering chocolatey aftertaste. Another great brew from the crew at Lancaster Brewing

Lancaster Brewing Company
Double Chocolate Milk Stout

Pours a dark brown, almost black color. Off white, khaki colored creamy head forms with a nice lace display. Aroma is all chocolate, hershey syrup, cocoa powder, milk chocolate, and alittle bit of roasted malt. In the flavor, straight up delicious chocolate, with some lactic sweetness, more chocolate syrup flavor, malted milk balls, cocoa powder, and coffee. Lancaster has a very tasty beverage with this one. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, smooth, rich, and creamy. Overall, a very nice dessert beer, but can pair with just about anything, from sweet to salty.

On tap at the tap house in Lancaster.

Great look and smell. Decent head with a really nice chocolate smell. The taste was excellent and the beer went down very smooth. Mouthfeel was somewhat weak but nothing that would stop me for having this again. A very enjoyable beer.

22 oz bottle poured into a snifter.

Pitch black with 1 finger of tan head that dissipates slowly.

Bang! Chocolate! Chocolate milk, milk chocolate, semi-sweet chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate...

Semi-sweet chocolate mixed with lactose sweetness and roasted barley. Notes of chocolate milk with Hershey's syrup. Hints of vanilla and marshmallow. A subtle hop bitterness lingers on.

Medium bodied, semi-creamy, and smooth.

I thought their regular Milk Stout was great, so the addition of cocoa nibs makes it even better!

Had this upon my first (and certainly not last) visit to the brewery. Served in an imperial pint.

-Low head when poured, but with a nice thin retention throughout. Very nice lacing as I enjoyed the beer.

-The aroma is warm and inviting. Clearly dark chocolate notes, slight coffee aroma, cherries and raspberries. Slightly nutty like sugar pecans.

-The taste is delicious with a fantastic chocolate flavor. The raspberries in the aroma comes out on the tongue, and a slight nutty flavor is present. Dark chocolate is clearly the theme though. Think of the potent way that some Southern Tier beers taste (Mocha, Choklat, Creme Bru Lee), but get rid of the over the top potency. I like those beers just fine, but I personally enjoy this more. It seems far more accessible and drinkable. Creme bru le can seemingly only be enjoyed in small doses, where as the Double Chocolate Milk Stout is easy going, flavorful, and very enjoyable.

-It starts off thin, but ends up "thick". The carbonation level seems to be right, so say the thin/thick as a negative, just pointing it out.

-Overall, I think this is a fantastic beer. Their Milk Stout is my favorite Milk Stout available, and this only improves upon it in it's on way. I only wish they would bottle it, and start to distribute to NC!
