On tap last night at Funcks in Palmyra, PA. Part of a flight, 4.5ozs I think.
Black with good oatmeal head, which persisted with good lacing. Chocilate, coffee, and toasted malt on the nose. Flavor was mostly chocolate, (no surprise there), with a slightly burnt toasted malt in the finish, which balanced out the sweetness.
Usually not to keen on Lancaster, but this is a good one.

22 oz bottle poured into a snifter.
Pitch black with 1 finger of tan head that dissipates slowly.
Bang! Chocolate! Chocolate milk, milk chocolate, semi-sweet chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate...
Semi-sweet chocolate mixed with lactose sweetness and roasted barley. Notes of chocolate milk with Hershey's syrup. Hints of vanilla and marshmallow. A subtle hop bitterness lingers on.
Medium bodied, semi-creamy, and smooth.
I thought their regular Milk Stout was great, so the addition of cocoa nibs makes it even better!

Cheap taste of chocolate. Didn't even finish my first pour of this bottle. Not worth drinking, in my opinion. I've had way better stouts. To name two I'll say Deschutes Obsidian or Founders Breakfast Stout. I was very disappointed unfortunately. Sorry, to give a bad review, but I really didn't like it. It doesn't seem right that it's rated 'world class' along side stouts that are world class. Sorry, but this stout is just okay. I've had great stouts and I've had good stouts, and this is not a great stout, and I think it's pushing it to say it's even good. I wouldn't ever choose to have this again. Maybe some might find it good. I seriously think it's 'drinkable ' at best. If you like milk stouts try it for yourself. Maybe it's just me (and my friend who wouldn't finish the bottle b/c she also didn't like it).
