A nice neighbor lady gave this to me. So of course I had to try it... heh.

Pours a medium amber with a nice head. The head dissipates quickly, but alot of carbonation remains.

The nose is faint strawberry and caramel.

Taste is a nice blend of malt and strawberry. Alot of times fruit beers can be overdone; but they did a good job on this one. Quite tasty, actually.

Would definitely buy this.

A - Pours crystal clear with a small head that fades quickly. There can't be much wheat in this beer with such poor head retention.

S - Some caramel malt with a hint of artificial strawberry smell.

T - Tastes like a light lager mixed with Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill. A little toasted grain flavor which is not unpleasant but it is all overwhelmed with a tart and artificial strawberry flavor.

M - Crisp, clean, until the tartness makes you pucker.

D - Not very drinkable unless you are desperate for a "beer".

Pours into my pint an amber/orange color with a slight hint of red. A small bubbly white head that quickly falls to a ring around the top. Aromas of wheat husk and roasted grain mingle with a strawberry juice aroma. The melding of scents is nice with the strawberry not being too overpowering.

First sip brings a slightly abrasive wheat husk maltiness that's also a bit toasty. Sweet strawberry flavor flows in and adds a nice boost to what would otherwise be another boring american pale wheat ale. A crisp, clean ale with a touch of strawberry essence. Pretty standard wheat based fruit beer.

Mouthfeel is good with a sturdy body and prickly carbonation. Goes down with easy going refreshment. A nice summer brew when you want something light and laid back. This wouldn't be something I'd normally choose but it's an interesting change of pace.

This fruit beer is for fans of light beers and no desire to drink a real beer. Weak in every way.

The false strawberry flavor permeates but is not even strong enough to mask the ultra weak wheat style. A boring garbage beer that never comes into its own flavor. So light and so nothing.

12oz bottle. Light amber with a touch of haze. Thin eggshell colored fizzy head. Not much lace or retention action going on. Acid in the "strawberry flavor" perhaps?

Bland, hints of metal, with a very faint strawberry extract aroma.

Fizzy and light mouthfeel leads to a rather acidic, sharp, fruity faux-strawberry, half-chewed bubble-gum flavor. Some lemon/lime, salt and leaf characters towards the finish, which is over in a quick flash on the palate, leaving a dry palate. Wheat twang and crispness. If there's any hops character it's masked by the sharpness of this beer. Malts? Maybe traces of grain underneath, but the strawberries dominate this brew. As much as this is an uncommon and interesting fruit to use, the acidic and faux-strawberry character is a bit annoying, making for a very unbalanced brew. I'm not impressed, but a fruit beer freak might wanna give this a try.

Poured a nice hazy, caramel and reddish-brown color with no head. Amazing aroma of fresh strawberries, makes you think of summer. Light carbination. At the first sip you get a burst of strawberry, and then you are left feeling as though you just ate a piece of bubbalicious bubblegum. Kind of brings you back to gradeschool! Clean and watery, very refreshing. Good and summery session beer.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12 oz bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: The body has a deep reddish amber color with a small light tan head. The head is quick to fade out and makes no lacing at all.

Smell: It has a very mild cherry and berry like sweetness coming though a light white bready maltiness. Overall it reminds me of a store bought almond ring coffee cake.

Taste / Palate: The flavor has a light thin feel with a balance of mild fruit and wheat. It seems somewhat dry and slightly tart. This finishes with some very light hop bitterness.

Presentation: 12 oz brown bottle with no freshness date.

Appearance: A typical wheat beer froth, it seems to stick around a bit as well. Hazy straw amber color … sort of murky looking.

Smell: Smells a little bit like strawberry soda … extract. A neutral malt and yeast are in the back.

Taste: Odd strawberry fruit flavor, the wheat leaves a mild twang and there is sweetness all around from the wheat and feigned by the fruit flavor. Hops are extremely small on the palate with a lasting strawberry flavor in the finish.

Notes: A fruit beer is a fruit beer is a fruit beer … this one of those fruit beers.

"wheat beer with strawberry flavor added" says the label of this 12 oz bottle. Not exactly encouraging news. The pour produces a quite attractive brew, with a clear amber body(must be filtered) with lots of carbonation going on in the glass. One finger of tightknit offwhite head towers over the body and leaves a lasting cap and some sheet lacing. Aroma is buttered biscuit with strawberry jam. Some caramel and toasted wheat add interesting notes. Mouthfeel is odd, beginning watery, but moving into light medium as it warms. Moderate carbonation.
Taste begins with sickly sweet strawberry jam, but the berries quickly fade. Caramel sweetness emerges and is offset with an anstringent wet grass bitterness. The strawberry flavor briefly reenters the profile, but has a processed character, as opposed to the fresh berry taste of a Melbourne Brothers fruit ale Slight toasty wheat just adds to the muddle.
I might try one of these again, simply for the unusual strawberry jam accent. Just an average American fruit beer, overall.

Appearance: 1 inch head, reddish-brown in color, clear, moderate carbonation

Smell: strawberries and wheat

Taste: strawberries dominant at the beginning and the end..wheat is present throughout and there is a touch of hops in the middle.

Mouthfeel: sweet start with a slightly bitter middle and a sweetish end, high carbonation, light bodied

Drinkability: This is a nice and light summer beer that I might have again. The strawberry is present but does not dominate the beer. I have had better fruit beers and way worse. Not a beer to spend the night drinking, but certainly one in the middle of a tasting would be refreshing.

-12 oz. bottle poured into mug.

A: Pinkish/Copper color. Very thin head.

S: More wheat than strawberry. Not overwhelming.

T: Just like the smell; malty with a hint of strawberry.

M: Light body. Little Carbonation.

D: Drinkable. Glad I only bought a 6'er of it though, probably won't purchase again. This was the 1st strawberry flavored beer that I've ever tried.

A slightly hazed by no means cloudy or unfiltered has a orange light copper tint to it with a nice sized creamy white head leaving on specks of lacing with each consecutive sip. The sharp wheat tones with a bit of biscuity bready malt character and then there's enough of the strawberry in the actual aroma. Taste is creamy textured good drink one for dessert but there sharp sweetness of the wheat and the strawberry finish doesn't sit well in my stomach it's just one of those flavors, all and all not bad tasting just a bit astringently sweet harsh on the back of the throat. Mouthfeel body is thin untextured except for the fizzy carbonation also adding to the cloyingly over carbonated beer like this. Drinkability I'm just not into it Lancaster's other beers are much more pleasant and agreeing toward my tastes.

A faint off-white froth attempts to form on the surface of this brew and does just manage to skim it for awhile. The beer itself lies somewhere between dark yellow and pale orange. A bit of loose bubbling sticks to the glass sporadically.
The aroma is a bit too artificial for me. Extracts are fine, though not as good as fresh, but there's still some technique to making it more real that isn't executed especially well here. Still, the malts set down the backbone with plenty of wheat, and the strawberry isn't either under or overplayed.
It comes off with a strong sweetness at first, fairly syrupy, then a sour/tart tang kicks in along with the wheat. There's a vague hint of leaf, but it begins seeming a lot like a strawberry soda. Fortunately, malt and hops aren't completely left out of the equation.
I expect the body to be light, and it is, but the feel is slightly improved over both what my expectations would be tasting it and what it's like at the beginning. That said, there's only enough carbonation, crispness and smoothness to be barely better than average. It threatens a little mix of slick and sticky but shies off just as it seems inevitable.

A-Ruddy copper with filtered clarity, offwhite head that settles to very little. Nice color, too bad there is no head.

S-Sweet malts and strawberries. Interesting

T-Definately getting the strawberries, sweet with a bit of tart. Very refreshing and thirst quenching, but not terribly complex.

M-This has a pretty light feel, and is a tad bit overcarbonated, but otherwide fine.

D-Decent drinkable beer. I would try this again, but not sure if I want to grab another right now.

Light brown body, almost apple juice in appearance, with a thin, casual white head... first scents ARE of apples(!); second are of sugary malts, like a pale ale with some additives--a hint of the lambic family is detectable... light, effervescent and crisp---a pilsner with some champagne asperations... pleasantly unfiltered and soft on the tongue, with a light aftertaste... fruity flavors prevail--like a pack of skittles dropped in--fragrances the tastebuds with a maltiness, though not sure of the effectiveness... These types of beers go two ways: true lambic or fizzy lager--and though this straddles the line with a softness that doesn't offend, it doesn't endear either....

Extremely clear, light coppery colored pour, thin meager white head, and a couple sparse dots of lace. Aroma is not the most exciting. Light sweet wheaty malt, perhaps corn-like, with a sweet syrupy strawberry cake-like scent. Taste is about the same and reminds me of plastic a little. This was better when I had it on tap, but not by much I recall. The beer alone is pretty unentertaining, and the actual strawberry flavor itself is even more disappointing. I was hoping for more of a fresh jam-like taste including some natural strawberry tartness. There's some kind of tartness here but its not doing it for me. This has more like fake strawberry candy flavor. There's a slight grape-like dryness through the finish also.

Can't win every time...

Fruit beers can be hard to describe due to the inherent negative sentiment of the beer geek. Due to this fact I waited until I drank more than a few of these Strawberry Wheats before I reviewed it. I've been more impressed with each successive brew. It pours a deep amber with the barest hint of red around the edges. Aroma is not overwhelming, but has some subtle strawberry notes along with some toasty malt. Taste is of a substantial wheat beer with some nice backbone of barley malt. A bit of bread, biscuit and toasted malt give this beer a medium body and allow the strawberry to stay in the background and not overwhelm the malt.
Fresh strawberry lingers in the finish and marries well with the dominate malt flavors. A fine summer refresher, heartily recommended .

Poured out a light amber brew with a 2 finger head. Mildly carbonated.Sweet malty smell with strawberry mildly mixed in.Taste is mild,,great summer beer, slightly sweet with hints of strawberry within.A slightly tart flavor comes through after sipping that lingers a bit. Mouthfeel is nothing special but i think it fits this beer. I could drink quite a few of these.

Pours a pale ruby amber with a quarter inch of foamy, white head that has decent retention. The nose is simply syrupy strawberry aromas. The taste is heavy syrupy strawberries. The mouthfeel is light and well carbonated, but in the finish there is a thicker, more syrup-like feel.

This is a drinkable beer, but it's a little to sweet and syrupy. It's very obvious that the strawberry flavor was added and that this was not brewed with real strawberries. Each swallow leaves a slight sugary coating on the palate. I probably wouldn't seek this out had it not come in a mix pack.

blurry transparent peachy amber-yellow with minima head action and no lacing.

slight strawberry note with the sourish wheat. something else emerges like a fermented/fresh piece of fruit....or marinated dried apricots. interesting. a creamy orange popsicle smell. dipped in a hefe...

a sip and the creaminess really comes through nicely. and the strawberry note, tho minimal, makes a stand nicely. it's missing the solid structure that SA Cherry Wheat exhibits, but the fruit flavor is much more enjoyable. and embedded in each swallow. the mouthfeel is perfectly balanced in both carbonation/crispness and smoothness. the finish leaves a nice residue of sparkling strawberry notes. very nice. and unexpected. it's nice to be surprised. i'll enjoy a few of these on a warm spring/summer day soon. i'd love to session this with an alternation of this and the SA Blackberry Witbier!

There is not a lot to say about this one. Very little strawberry flavor is able to get through a very weak wheat beer. No aroma, no complexity, no second chance. And to make is worse, this was on tap at the brewery, I can't imagine how nondescript it must be from a bottle.

The bottle pours a hazy amber-orange body with a short-lived creamy white head. It maintains a thin collar but leaves no lace. The nose displays a mild strawberry (but isn't all strawberry mild?) and wheat malt. It's welcoming, and certainly not overdone as some fruit beers can be. Light bodied with a fine and mild carbonation, it's smooth across the palate. The flavor combines the wheat malt and mild strawberry extract found in the aroma with a gentle bitterness. It finishes with some residual maltiness, but it's not sweet.

Serving Type: 12 oz. pry-top bottle
Value: good for the cost

A: Slightly translucent and dark gold, good head retention accompanied by sparse rising bubbles, head off-white

S: Fresh malt smell, no alcohol, no hops present, not much in the way of strawberry either

T: Mostly wheat taste, strawberry presence is low, has a lager-like cleanness, alcohol present in the finish and strong overall due to lack of other strong flavors

M: crisp, and dry, carbonation provides a mild sharpness

D: definitely something easy and mild to use to turn others onto craft beer

Looks like a nice beer and then - whoa - this tastes just like strawberry ice cream. Same flavoring ingredient used here maybe? If you want a beer that tastes like ice cream, that's cool. But overall the tastes comes off as being unnatural and synthetic. Still, I probably wouldn't pass up a pint on a hot day.

Appearance: light, clear golden color with small carbonation bubbles. The 1 finger head quickly reduced to hardly any foam.

Smell: slight strawberry and yeast.  The yeast smell is dank, a little old and basement like.

Taste: grainy wheat, somewhat bitter, and the end flavor is exactly Captian Crunch Berries. That flavor is quite fresh in my mind, since I just had a taste of Crunch Berries yesterday - we bought it for a vacation treat for my son. Hence, the strawberry taste is unnatural. I also pick up a slight metallic bite.

Drinkability: the strawberry is overwhelming, it is really fizzy, and light.
