Pours a clear pale straw. Half a finger white head dies quickly.

Aromas are of doughy malts, grains, and sadly, corn.

Taste is also doughy malts, and I am still looking for the crisp hop finish. Dear dear. A little metal is there, and some corn. Not really what I wish to be writing about for a pilsner. Somewhat stale aftertaste.

Mouthfeel a little under carbonated for style .

Not LCs best offering.

12oz bottle - weird that I'm the only non-Aussie to review this beer, and I bought this bottle in Calgary...

This beer pours a clear medium golden hue, with one finger of thin soapy white head, which quickly fades, leaving no lace in its wake. It smells of mild cracker grain, and floral, spicy, weedy hops. The taste is haystack grain, lemon, and more mildly spicy floral, grassy hops. The carbonation is on the low side, the body medium weight, and kind of rocky on the way to the land of smooth. It finishes fairly dry, but nothing resembling crisp - just green and weedy.

Definitely trying for the central European pilsener profile - but falling well short - this is just too tame, and the perceptible hops just askew.

The LC Original Pilsner is a solid easy drinking sessionable ale!!! It poured a clear golden color with white head that is leaving a lace. The scent when opened was a little skunky....but after it was poured into a glass it evened out. The taste was evenly balanced with good bread base. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall.....YUMMY.

A - Pours a clear Golden colour bla bla bla.

S - Small grains and not much else.

T - Nice balanced sweetness with a slightly bitter finish. No real hop presense

M - Slightly overcarbonated and medium body.

O - Not a great representation of the style, but a solid brew in its own right

Reviewed from notes taken during a recent trip to Sydney.

Poured into a wine glass. Glass of cold water on the side to sip from periodically.

Appearance: As poured the beer is definitely pale straw colored and completely clear. The ½" white head receded fairly soon leaving very modest lacing. Sipping left a bit of speckled lacing here and there but soon there was none.

Smell: The aroma is light but present with some herbal spicy character and a reasonable malt presence.

Taste: The flavors include some grassy/herbal hop presence and a fair amount of gentle sweet malt flavor. Not particularly complex, however.

Mouthfeel: The mouth feel is medium bodied with weak carbonation. The finish is medium long but is mostly malt sweet with little hop flavor or bitterness coming through.

Drinkability: I thought this was a quite ordinary beer. While I was able to finish it quite easily I'd certainly not want a second and would not seek it out on a trip to OZ.

This pours a clear pale golden colour. A good, persistent head.

Very unappealing nose. Very grainy. No hops to speak of.

There is a strange dry maltiness to this. Nothing appealing. Metallic.

Medium bodied.

A very average brew and, in my opinion, not in the same class as the other Little Creatures brews.

Definitely an improvement on the previous LC pils. Still not a great beer and not worth the price tag but decent. Nose is soft with just a hint of those floral hops, some straw - it feels like it's on a borderline, just a hint away from being off but not yet. It is a totally drinkable lager with not much going on that joe average would probably like. A bit lacking in bitterness in my opinion for a pils. If it was packaged as a Euro lager we'd probably be getting close to the style.

A: Pours slightly hazy straw color with a small head that fades quickly to bits of lacing.

A: Aroma is fairly mild with some citrus, malt sweetness and grain.

T: Taste Is a bit on the light side with some malt sweetness and grain. Mild bitterness and the finish is quite dry.

F: Light body, crisp and refreshing.

O: Actually this is not a bad beer for a generic pilsner. Better than most of the swill type lagers out there.

A: Pours a clear straw colour, light carbonation, airy/wispy head dissipates quickly leaving a thin film.

S: Mild sweet smell, can't detect anything else.

T: Really nice bitter taste with some subtle sweetness.

M: A little watery, leaves a very dry sensation in the mouth.

O: A nice beer which is a little more complex than other beers I've tasted in the pilsener style, would drink again.

A - Crystal clear pale golden colour with a copper hue, thin layer of head with little retention, no lacing and heavy body carbonation.

S - Grassy hops, sweet corn and biscuit malts with some bitterness on the finish.

T - A bit bland with bitter corn and cardboard hops with some grassiness on the finish. Bready malts and blanched almonds linger on the finish.

M - Full bodied ale that loads up on carbonation on the palette, but goes down smooth.

D - True to the style offering some true pilsener flavours, some nice nuttiness and a hop bitterness that lingers. Pleasant surprise and a worthy offering from Little Creatures.

Appearance: Clear bright yellow, the head does not stick around.

Aroma: Faint grains with a trace of hops

Taste: Very clean with a mildly sweet malt flavour and a hoppy bitterness followed by a slightly metallic taste on the finish.

Mouthfeel: medium body with high carbonation

Drinkability: It is light in flavour and easy to drink but alas from the bottle it does not stand out as much as hoped. However, I do have to say that when I had this on tap at the brewery I thought it was much better with stronger hops coming through.

Evidently a new offering from Little Creatures; I assume it's different to the LC Pilsner, and will log this as a new beer. Although, with same ABV, cannot be certain.

a) Pours a clear dark straw. Some white fluffy head, dissipates rapidly with some lacing.

s) Some spicy/seedy aroma, slightly herbaceous. Some sulfur notes, and a clean malt underpinning.

t) Malt has a lightly sweet honey hint, with the hop spiciness giving it a good balance. Would like a touch more bitterness in this, but approachable.

m) Fairly light and slightly creamy. Finish is neither crisp nor cloying.

d) Quite easy to put away; a fairly mild version of European counterparts,

Pours a clear and bright yellow colour, with a fine, but slightly filmy head of pure white. Carbonation is muted, but reasonably persistent. Lacing is slippy but sudsy. Body looks surprisingly heavy for a pils. Not bad.

Nose is sharp with eucalyptus when cold. As it warms, a little more dusty grain comes through. A slightly peppery note comes through as well. All in all, the sharpness is pretty good for the style. It's not as good as some, but it's not bad either.

Taste is a little disappointing, with a very light palate that really doesn't lend itself to anything. A light metallic uplift on the back gives a hint of crispness, but otherwise, it's rather thin and very light. Disappointing.

It's not a bad pils. It has a serve of crispness to aid drinkability, especially in hot weather, but it's far inferior to their Pale Ale, and far inferior to some really classic pilseners.

Tap at the Little Creatures Dining Hall. From notes.

A - Pours a light golden colour. Bright. Good carbonation and one finger of white head. Decent lace anda film of retention.

S - Grass, skunky noble hop was light. A little fruit and a light malt character.

T - Grassy with lot's of noble style hops. Light malt and some yeastiness.

M - Crisp finish with light bitterness. Light to medium body. Good carbonation.

O/D - Decent pils. Doesn't match better craft versions but it's good . Simple, easy to drink, but not especially special.
