Very good example of an english-style brown ale. Bottle conditioned, flavor is above average, and has a refreshing aftertaste (probably due spring or filtered water usage). Can easily have more than one on a hot summer day. :0)

This is a very light bodied that has a nice roasty nose but a lot more bitter than I'd like to see in a brown. It's quite drinkable and enjoyable. I also understand that this brewery is closed. This is a better than average brown, I'm glad I had the opportunity to try it.

Very good beer. Raisins and a slight coffeish note in the nose. Definite coffee and cream flavor mixed in with a little grapefruit/citrusy flavor from the hops. It actually leaves a bit of a sour aftertaste when it gets a little warmer. That does little to detract from the overall quality.

This is an excellent brown ale. Pours out to, well, brown, in the glass, with a light brown head. Taste of malt is present, with a very slight sweetness. A highly drinkable beer from a small, northern Michigan brewer. Too bad this isn't more widely distributed. Good beer.
