I've drank this a lot over the years. About 9 years ago a local summertime bar and grill had about thirty cases left when the season was over and wanted to cut a quick deal to get rid of them @ $4.00/ case, I bought them all and sold half for a $1.00/case profit and consumed the balance (I had help).
Just for the heck of it I bought a 12 pack yesterday @ $10.99 which was exactly the same price that Bud and Coors were going for in the same store but this is a more flavorful beer than either of those although it is still a "Mexican" Macro.
Having said that,....color, smell, flavor, mouthfeel is richer than typical BMC, I detect a little clove in both smell and taste, Overall a typical macro in many ways but a smooth and easy drinking one. I can't help it, I like it...but what would one expect?...I'm a Texican.

(bottle code: D034A128 - poured into a pilsner glass)
A: rapidly sizzling-out head... crystal-clear, lion's mane gold colored liquid...
S: pancake batter?... dusty upholstery?...
T: typical N. American lager characteristics, overall... stale Ritz cracker, popcorn... mild dry grass, mist of proofing dough... hint of toasted husk in the aftertaste... pizza with green peppers(?!), very late
M: clean, soft... moderate tingle throughout... a bit medium-bodied for an adjunct lager, typical of the Mexican examples... dry, semi-flat finish
O: not terrible... about what I expected... not as nice as Bohemia, but still good enough to drink all night on its own or with spicy, greasy Mexican dishes

Pours a clear straw color with a nice head that dissipates quickly in a 16oz pub glass leaving some lacing.
Smell is almost absent. I get a slight hint of some malts and yeast but it is ever so slight and non existent at times.
Taste really isn't that bad. I get the malts and a slight skunkyness that is present in many of the Mexican style beers.
Mouthfeel is okay. Little bit of carbonation but not much going on.
Overall, it is an okay beer to drink on the beach. If the taste is what saves the beer in my opinion. Without it this beer is a flop.
