Sexy can. Nice rich golden appearance. Vanishing head. It smells like an adjunct lager; maybe grain and tin bubbles is the way to say it. Modelo Especial tastes like all the rest. I've only had one adjunct that tastes different, Landshark, and that's just because of the added sugar (which doesn't improve that particular brew all too much). Modelo is just a good standard example of the style, with little discernible hop flavor, not very malty, plenty of rice, or corn, neither of which has anything remarkably distinctive to add. Still, I like this beer plenty enough for what it is. Goes pretty good with a burrito.

Appearance: Golden with little head that recedes immediately, very little lacing, lack of carbonation. I can tell this is review is not going to go well, but at least the beer's not murky with swimming critters.
Smell: Sweet corn
Taste: Sweet malt, corn, grainy, metallic, possibly the slightest hint of hops but I could be mistaken.
Easy to drink beer that isn't bad or good. I was dissapointed because I expected much more taste. I was a marketing hype victim. Call the police.

The second brew I enjoyed on my Mexico trip...
A - Pours a crystal clear golden colour, finger of head with little retention and no lacing.
S - Mild corn, faint grassy hop notes and cereal grains.
T - Much like the scent though a tad more flavourful than Tecate, with sweet corn, grassy notes and cereal grains.
M - Medium bodied, smooth and wet.
O - Yet another easy drinking, but flavourless ale that serves well to satisfy your thirst but will certainly not satisfy a craving for flavour.

24 fl oz metal can served into a conical Guinness pint glass in me gaff in low altitude Los Angeles, California. Reviewed live. Expectations are extremely low given the style, brewery, and reputation.
Served refrigerator cold. Paired with popcorn.
A: Pours a pathetic four finger head that quickly dissipates (within twenty seconds). Extremely thin and without any cream. Colour is an overcarbonated transparent dark yellow. Not at all appealing.
Sm: Malt and water. A sadly awful aroma, but fortunately only mild in strength, sparing those around it it's terrible scent.
T: Dirty malt and water. Some barley. No alcohol or yeast comes through. A bit stale. A bit industrial, somewhat on account of the overcarbonation. Not at all balanced. Horribly built, though it could be argued it's to style. In no way enjoyable or pleasant. Far from refreshing.
Mf: Overcarbonated, lending it a touch of sharpness. Too thick for the lack of flavours. Smooth and wet, but boring and dull. Doesn't complement the "flavours" at all. Very much a product of industrial macrobrewing.
Dr: Drinkable, but garbage. The best thing about it is its cost. Really a crappy beer, but far from the worst I've had. I'd never get it again, except on-draught just to keep my review average in check. Don't try this unless you're masochistic. I'm embarassed for the brewer, but he's probably too busy rolling around in pesos to care. A perfect example of the sorry state of popular macrobrews. In its defense, it isn't watery - so I can't give it an F.
