A: The pour is a clear golden straw color with a white head that has almost zero retention.

S: Sweet corn and apple juice is what the nose is all about. A slight grassiness with a touch of sweet grain. Luckily the can has protected this one from any skunking.

T: Quite a bit of grain flavor along with the corn. There is a touch of rice and some of the apple juice sweetness that I get in many adjunct laden lagers. Almost no bitterness or hop character.

M: Light in body with a moderate to high carbonation.

O: As with so many of these beers, this really isn't that bad, but it's just not all that flavorful or interesting. It just doesn't make me want to drink it again.

Nothing overly impressive here. The beer was a yellowish golden color with a little bit of head that lasted until you take your first sip then it disappears. There isn't much of anything to say. It smells of malts not much hop aroma. You can probably avoid this beer is you're looking for something more exotic.

The appearance is more yellow than most adjunct lagers, has a small white head, leaves some lacing.

Smell, well it smells like a Bud Light, not much.

Taste, I was impressed for it being just an adjunct lager. Very citrusy, clean, very easy to drink. Being in the can definately saved it from getting skunky.

Mouthfeel, not much body, but who wants body in this style?

Overall, not bad, it will be my pool beer this summer, in the can, not the bottle.

Clear pale to deep gold body, 1/2 inch head which quickly dissipated to a ring around the top. Looked almost flat, with very few bubbles rising to the top. Lacing was average. Taste was very light with almost no finish. Watery, soft mouthfeel. Not impressed, almost like drinking a light beer.

Appearance: Poured into a pint glass. Pours a clear golden color, with a thin head and some lacing.

Smell: Adjuncts, some caramel and a hint of hops, and slight skunkiness.

Taste: Metallic, cereal grain adjunct.

Mouthfeel: Thin mouthfeel.

Drinkability: Very drinkable. If I had to pick between this and any BMC offerings, I would rather pick this, although I would rather drink something else.

Nothing "Especial" about this one. Negra Modelo is far better.

This is consistantly one of the skunkiest smelling beers there is. It never seems to fail to smell like pure skunk upon opening. Underneath that, there's some Euro-type lager smell to it...but it's skunky.

I know it's labeled as an adjunct lager, but I don't really get much of an adjunct taste to it. Rather, it has some cereal grain on the body...a mild sweetness....and some of the skunk from the aroma transfers to the finish of this beer. Hops are nearly non-existant.

Pretty blah stuff. I used to believe this was among the best Mexican beers, but it's clear Negra Modelo is the superior beer between the Modelo's.

Pours a white one finger head that vanishes almost instantly. Right away I can smell skunkiness, and my face is nowhere near the bottle. I hope this isn't a bad bottle. Tastes like lime and corn. Mouthfeel is sticky and unenjoyable, especially since the limey-ness of the flavor suggests it should be more refreshing in the mouth. Would not go out of my way to drink this again, aside from trying it on tap or a bottle I know for sure is fresh to see if I just got a bad bottle. It's really unfortunate when the best feature about a beer is the bottle it comes in. I guess the foil top got my hopes up.

Not really so what is so Especial about Modelo especial. After having many beers in Cabo they all start to run together. I really think that Maybe Modelo just changes the name on the can, but puts the same product in all the bottles!

It is a typical Mexican style pils beers. Refreshing when you are sitting next to the pool on an 80 degree day, but doesn't have much body to it.

But I tried all of the mexican pils and this one was closer to the bottom of the list than the top.

This pale lager pours a light yellow gold color from a clear 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is grainy, grassy, corny and sweet. A light bodied pale lager. Malts are mild, cereal and grainy. Hops are slightly bitter and a touch spicy. Lively carbonation. Somewhat metallic tasting and that flavor, sad to say, is the major flavor component to that beer. Sort of like beer flavored water; buy not in a good way. It has no off tastes because it has almost no flavor at all. Mouthfeel is thin. Finish is crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

A- Golden clear yellow body, white head some lacing. Decent looking Lager.

S- Light hops and malt.

T- Sweety grainy taste, some light bitterness, light refreshing beer.

M- Light bodied airy and fizzy.

D- Very drinkable lager, great to wash down a meal or to cool off on a hot summer day.

Straight out of the fridge into a pint glass. Loose network of bubbles, pretty fizzy. Foam rapidly fades away to nothing, leaving a yellow gold liquid with a thin ring on the surface.

Smells nondescript, light husky grain, straw.

Taste is similarly nondescript, dry and crackery, seltzery fizz. Vague bitterness in the aftertaste, yet no hop flavor to report. Pretty clean, though there was a faint metallic hint. Factory fresh and utilitarian. Use it to wash down some fiery hot Mexican cuisine, or to cool down after mowing the yard.

Pale yellow straw golden body with a wispy thin white head. Fine speckled lacing lines the sides of my pint glass. Aroma has cooked veggies/pale malt/corn sweetness. Flavor is sweet with a harsh finish not very crisp alot of DME. Cooked corn/somewhat metallic finish. This is a bad beer but not as bad from the clear bottles with a lime. Straight up from a can this beer is pretty much one of the worst of I've come across. Mouthfeel is fizzy carbonated water texture with nothing redeeming about it. Drinkability sucks, cover it up with lime or just go with Negra Modelo.

Picked up a single just to try it out, usually I take the Negro version when dining out. Pours a light golden with very little foam/head. No lacing, Smell is usual macro lager malts. Taste is a tad sweet but nothing that jumps out. Mouthfeel is somewhat carbonated and light to medium bodied. Drinkability is fine, nothing wrong with it and certainly great for a beach outing.

Ok time to review this just to get it out of my fridge.

Poured into a pint glass.

A - pours a straw yellow with a fizzy white head. No lacing of course but it's an ok look for a lager.

S - grains, alcohol, bready yeast. Nothing impressive.

T - pretty clean taste believe it or not, I mean, the harshness is there but it is drinkable for a lager especially comparing it to BMC. It will go down easy with food, so it isn't a bad bar choice in my opinion.

M - a bit creamy, decently carbed. The hoppyness (if any) has a metallic taste on the finish which isn't pleasant.

D - it is a good choice if it's on a  bar menu and nothing else stands out. I won't go recommending it to anyone in the beer world, but they will find their way out of my fridge in due time.

Drank out of the bottle sans glass as waitress did not bring me glass as I asked for....oh well ding her on service points.

Appearance: Typical yellow lager but more inviting than many other macro lagers.

Smell: could not get any smells from the bottle since my waitress dumped a un-asked for lime in it.

Taste: Sweetish taste that finishes bitter but I get a aftertaste that is not pleasing. Slightly better than many macros out there, especially Corona. It was palatable since it was ice cold but after it warmed up a bit I struggled to finish.

Look: Pours a pale golden yellow color with a thin white head.
Smell: Smells like lime, skunk, and hints of bread.
Taste: Taste has a slight lemon bite, hints of lime, more skunkiness, watery...
Feel: Light, sharp bubbles on the tongue, smoothe finish.
Drinks: good. easy to drink, better than corona in my personal opinion.

Drink ice cold and i doubt that you will notice how poor it really is. Yellow color with a white head, this is a macro beer through and through. The nose has a decent power to it though, and as skunky hoppiness that proves that traditional beer ingredients were used in the production of this otherwise charmless carbonated water. More power in the flavor than other of the sort, but avoid unless absolutely necessary.

24oz can.
Clear, bubbly, pale yellow/gold. Very thick head that is gone quickly. No lacing at all.
S- typical grainy pale ale with mild hop and mild citrus.
T - quick mild grain taste. Tastes like a Miller product. Little overall taste.
M & D - might work if very cold. The warmer it gets, it's pretty lousy. Like a macrobrew from one of the big guys. Nothing especial at all.
I bought a 25oz Foster Premium Ale at the same time and for the same price. World of difference and the Modelo wasn't the better by far.

12 ounce clear bottle with gold foil over the cap. Skip the lime. An aggressive pour into a pint glass yields a solid finger and a half head that quickly goes m.i.a. leaving no lacing in its wake. Tiny bubbles continue to surface. The beer is golden tinted and for a brief moment before the head disappears it looks kind of nice. You know what they say; "Drink Modelo, pee Corona." Okay, maybe I just say that.

The scent is the standard issue pale lager smell. It carries the aroma of wet grass and not much else. With the proper qualifiers Modelo doesn't taste bad at all. You really have to drink this cold and fast because it gets downright rank as it warms. However, at the proper temperature, it wields a perfectly enjoyable light lager taste. Straw is noticeable but not overbearing. It's a simple brew, but it was going down nicely with a plate of fajitas. However, after it got warm, it was game over.

The mouthfeel was akin to drinking grainy water. It's neither offensive, nor special. It just feels like average beer in your mouth. The alcohol is pretty much undetectable. Light carbonation works well at ice cold temperature but only magnifies the foul graininess at warmer temps. It's easy to drink, but truth be told, drinkability points are heavily docked for the fact that I cannot think of a circumstance where I would desire another round. It's a perfectly average pale lager that works well under a very narrow set of circumstances.

Appearance: Very weak head. The color is almost honey. It's dark for a lager.

Smell: Skunky even though it was from a can. Not impressive.

Taste: Very sweet. Strong hops. Bitter and astringent, metallic overpowers the malt. Lingers long and doesn't finish well. Ending flavor is situated in the back of the mouth

Mouthfeel: Highly carbonated and watery.

Drinkability: A refreshing drink for a hot day. I could drink a few of these.

Appearance - Very clear, straw color. Bright, very fizzy white head that quickly disappeared. Just a few bubbles coming up from the bottom. Little to no lacing.

Smell - Clean smelling corn aroma mixed with some light notes of grain. Hints of butter, but not real strong. None of the aromas really stand out. Kind of tame.

Taste - In the taste, I am getting a sweet corn flavor with the grain backing it up. The taste is not bad really. I was surprised.

Mouthfeel - Light mouthfeel with out any coating on the throat or tongue. Well, maybe a little, but not much. It is somewhat dry, refreshing and crisp.

Drinkability - This is really pretty drinkable. It got better as it went along. It would be fine on a real hot day after some outdoor work. I would choose this over any American "macro". I'm glad I tried this. Not too filling and easy going.

Reviewed from notes.

Poured into a pint glass. Pours a very light yellow color with a lot of visible carbonation. Both the nose and the flavor are seemingly one in the same. Luckily this strays away from a lot of the skunky flavors that plague this style, especially when placed into a clear glass bottle. There is just a touch of light grain husks and not much else. Decent enough brew and definitely better than others from this brewery.
