Pours a soapy head that goes down very fast. No lacing on glass, a bit over carbonated. Crystal clear color of yellow. Smells of a decent low grade microbrew and tastes good. Is great with enchiladas and refried beans. Nothing overly offensive, but nothing impressive either. I will leave it for mexican dinners.

The familiar smell of Mexican lager - somewhat hoppy, with a good helping of adjunct grains. For whatever reason I've always liked the smell, so it gets solid points in that category. Pours golden into a pint glass with about an inch of almost yellowish white head, medium bubbles, that fizzes all the way down leaving no lace in about 30 seconds. Dark enough that it looks like real beer, but the fizz leaves no question that it's going to be on the lighter crisper side.

Taste as expected is light and crisp, with a malty aftertaste that sticks around for a while. Actually a little bit of hoppiness that comes out after a while as well. It's not a work of art, but it absolutely gets the job done as a refreshing summer beer. You could swig it down in quantity if you wanted to as well. This one gets solid marks across the board.

Poured from a 24 oz. can. Has a rich golden color with about a 1 inch head. Has a unusual but interesting aroma, corn is present. Taste is of corn and malts, a bit of sweetness. Feels fairly light in the mouth and has good drinkability. Overall this is a pretty good beer.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Added a slice of lime at the recommendation of a friend.

A: Nice golden bronze color -- very little head retention. Actually the white lacing disappeared after a few seconds, giving way to medium to large bubbles (might have been a pouring error on my part...).

S: The lime obviously covers up most of the smell. Before adding it, the beer gave off a rather dusty, dirty grass aroma. It wasn't negative, but clearly covers up any hops or malt that are present. Not really sure if the lime is necessary...

T&M: Great taste -- excellent balance between being overly sweet and bitter. The lime is present, but I almost tasted warm corn husks or tortillas in the beer. Light and crisp, with layers of complexity, this is very user friendly with nice carbonation and a finish that lasts for half a minute or so.

D: Excellent lager. Much better for the money that Corona or Pacifico. I'd recommend someone to try it without the lime, and if they feel compelled to add fruit -- just a little will do. This beer can stand upright on its own, and makes a wonderful addition to traditional Mexican cuisine. I prefer it with lightly salted avocado halves. Definitely a go-to-beer for Cinco de Mayo.

split a $1 tallboy

pours clear bright gold with a 1 finger head that leaves spotted lacing

smell is very weak grains and weak grassy hops no off metalic smells most ajunct lager have

taste this one fooled me it is much like czech pils cereal grains and grassy hops

mouthfeel - has a medium body with a good amount of carbonation

drinkability is also good - 24oz can for a buck and it tastes better then some czech pils i have had - i will buy another some time down the road

update: later that night a got a killer headache and the only time beer does to me is when i drink the cheap stuff so drinkability goes from 4 to 1 - never again

Pours a crazy clear lightly toasted straw color with a tight fizzy white head that quickly dissapates into a sparse cap. The aroma is grainy sweet with grassy noble hops, smells like a Euro lager to me. The taste is very similar to the aroma; sweet from the grains, some corn flavor, a very grassy hop. Geez, get rid of the grainy malt and substitute with a dry cracker like malt, and have yourself a nice pilsner. The feel is light but not watery, quite fizzy, finishes grainy sweet and a bit astringent. A Mexican Euro lager which fits the brewers style I guess. I wish they went with more a pilsner style. Still better than most "blonde" Mexican lagers. Ranks right up there with Heineken but falls way short of their Modelo Negro...though a different style.

This beer is served ice cold in a pub glass. No lime and no frosted mugs for me please. I do have some standards.

Appearance: The beer pours a clear bubbly pale yellow coloration. The head is a finger thick with white coloration. Good head retention is noted.

Smell: Nothing special in this glass of beer. The aroma is a bit of light malt grain earthyness. A vaguely grass hop presence. No off aromas noted.

Taste: The taste has no offensive flavors that need to be masked. A bit of corn and a flash of bittering going slightly earthy.

Mouthfeel / Drinkability: The body of the beer is light and well carbonated. Both play well with the beers overall character. This could easily be a throw back beer. I certainly enjoyed this more than Bud.

Served in a pint glass. Pours a clear golden yellow with a thin white head that sticks around surprisingly well, creeping up the side of the glass.

Aroma is basic macro, nothing surprising. Taste is smooth but plain and a bit watery. A light bit of malt, but nothing else to speak of. Smooth and easy drinking, but doesn't really leave you wanting more.

Appearance- Yellowish, pale-gold with clean white head. Large bubbles. Head recedes quickly.

Smell- Corny steeliness. Some grain. Pretty standard adjunct aromas.

Taste- Not a whole lot of flavor. Watery mouthfeel distributes evenly, a grainy light lagerish taste with little malt, and some light hops. Refreshing overall.

Mouthfeel- Light, watery body. Lots of carbonation to compensate.

Drinkability- Definitely serve extra cold. Pretty refreshing (but so is water).

A - Poured out a crystal clear, bubbly, golden yellow color with a fizzy, small, white head. It dissipated quickly and left little to no lace.

S - It smelled sweet and of corn. Not much else there.

T - It tasted sweet and pilsener-like. Light grassiness lead one to believe there are some hops in here. Overall, the taste is not offensive, but it's not great.

M - It was very crisp and sharp. A light to medium-bodied lager.

D - This is an okay lager. I've seen it listed as a Vienna Lager in a book, but the color and lack of maltiness makes me think this site has the correct style.

Appearance: Poured an effervescent, golden yellow. A light, white head developed but dissipated instantly, leaving a ring around the edge and a slight lacing.

Smell: Immediately after I popped off the cap I got a whiff of...Corona. The aroma is slight, but there is a hint of macro lager grains there.

Taste: Not bad. Obviously it doesn't deliver any complexity, but it's a good ice cold lager. The grains dominate. Nothing special.

Drinkability: I'm impressed. The humble bottle and foil don't promise much, but Modelo Especial has a little something to offer. It's a good anytime lager -- the Pabst of Mexico.

A - A little darker than your typical BMC. A small white head was visible for a second and then it was gone. No lacing whatsoever.

S - Malt, corn, and just a touch of hops.

T - Processed corn and malt dominate the taste. Man this is boring. Slight touch of bitterness in the finish. Very dry.

M - Thin and weak, no body.

D - If I hadn't discovered craft beer I would probably like this becauseI wouldn't know any better.

I have had this many times...

Pour/Appearance: Golden straw colour with a 2 inch foamy white head which lasted about 5 minutes ( American Pint Glass).

Smell: Modelo smelled like your typical lager...grassy and grainy, not to much going on but a pleasant clean smell, think hayfield after a fall cut.

Taste: Modelo tastes like a lager! A bit more bite (i'm guessing hops) than a BMCs and taste how it smells, very much like grass. Very clean flavour with very little after taste. Not much malt going on.

Mouthfeel: Very carbonated but washes nachos down very well!

Drinkability: Excellent, very good spicy food beer!

I was in a all inclusive hotel in Mexico and they had this in the hotel room. Opened up just to try. 3 sips and drain pour. Tasted like Busch to me. No better than our macro crap offerings in the the states.

A: light gold, white head, gone in seconds

S: more than I expected, I smell some malty sweetness but there isn't a great hop aroma.

T: There is some malty sweetness and some earthy graininess. The beer on a whole has some hop bittering but no true hop flavor to pinpoint.

M: Not my style on the mouthfeel. This is pretty light

D: really not that bad. I didn't get the ultra-violet ray imparted skunk I was expecting from the clear bottle. I like it better than corona. Im not gonna buy 12 but ill have one if its handed to me (this one was)

I just wanna start off by saying this beer sucks. Melani has been squeezing limes into my glass with each beer and its better than just straight beer. Pitiful...

this brew pours up a pale honey gold color with a small quickly fading head. the nose is very faint aroma, corn oil, faint malts and faint hops, nothing out of the box. the taste is water, tiny malt backdrop, faint hop bittering, a syrupy taste is left in my mouth, light bodied (leaning towards medium because of the syrup), non-natural CO2 carbo. Not a pretty beer.

Did you know that there are pro beer drinkers that drink their beer only out of the bottle. A beer like this might be like heaven to them and beer like Anchor Porter might be like hell. Nutso...

From a can poured into a pilsener glass. Pale, amber gold color. Head dissipates quickly with zero lacing.

Smell is of wet grain and stale bread. Reminds me also of the vegetable aisle at the local supermarket.

Taste is decent for a macro lager. I get red apples, grape bubblegum, and close to zero hop aftertaste.

It's yellow, it's fizzy, it's light on the body. It is what it is. Drinkable, yet totally forgettable.

A- Straw gold color, little head, not great retention. Looks like a slightly darker Corona.

S- A little alcohol actually, with corn and some grains. Not too strong, not too much to it, but not bad.

T- Corn, grain, slight malt sweetness. Some alcohol at the end (spicy?). Nothing special, nothing terrible.

M- Crisp and light. Carbonated. Like a Corona.

D- Definitely could have a bunch. Nothing too complex or heavy here.

Pours a little 1 finger head that dissipates quickly with a light amber color.

Smell is of faint pale malts with a slight vegetable flavor.

Taste is of pale malts with a little spiciness throughout. Hop bitterness is barely balancing. No hop flavor to comment on.

Mouthfeel is decently crisp, but could be lighter and crisper.

This is a no frill beer. No real flaws here. It's just an easy to drink basic lager.

Pours a clear, pale yellow color. 1/4 inch head of a white color. Poor retention and poor lacing. Smells of adjunct upfront and some yeast cleanliness. Fits the style of an American Adjunct Lager. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp with a high carbonation level. Tastes of yeast cleanliness up front, adjunct, and some slight pale malt in the finish. Overall, just another Adjunct Lager - nothing special.

Poured from a 24oz can into a beer mug.

Appearance/Smell - Appears clear gold with high carbonation and a quarter inch of soapy head. Nice head retention surprisingly, and sticky, soapy lacing. A ring of foam retains well throughout entire consumption, very inviting! Smells of, loads of grain, corn husk, mixed vegetables, some tart grape and sweet malt. A dominant grainy aroma overall, clean and not much to detect.

Taste/Mouthfeel - Tastes of, lots of grains, semi sweet malt, lots of corn and mixed vegetables, and some citrus flavors on top of tart grape. Finishes with malts and a dry lingering snap of bitterness, more than average flavor profile for this type of beer. Mouthfeel is a little thin with lots of active, lively carbonation on the palate. Somewhat smooth going down, lite-medium bodied and bitey overall.

Drinkability/Final thoughts - Okay, another easy drinking American Adjunct, one could drink all night long with no problem. It reminded me of Corona, or Negro Modelo, with some of the same flavors like grains, and that snap of bitterness that can almost taste rubbery sometimes. Nothing special about it to me, slightly more flavor than your average for the style, nothing offensive.

I didn't really understand the citrus flavors of this beer, something almost artificial to me. The appearance was another story though, beautiful and very inviting! Not bad overall, I did enjoy this beer so Id say give it a try. Cheers!

Aroma is sweet with a hint of corn in the nose. Otherwise, just sweet and not much else.

Sweet with a hint of corn and malt upfront. Not much else to detect for flavor. Simplistic. Boring.

Mouthfeel is full of lingering sweet malt and corn. Not much there. Watery. Unimpressive.

Your average adjunct lager here. Definitely nothing to brag about.
