Ah, Corona extra... gotta be one of the most profitable beers in the world. One of the original bottled waters! At least it's safer to drink than much of the water in the world.
Appearance? you can tell that from the clear glass bottle... but for the sake of science I have poured some into a pint glass.
Forms a brief foam phenomenon then fades away. Some hints of lacing try desperately to hold but the white fades back into the yellow, bubbly bog.
Very nearly odorless. Nothing off putting. Nothing appealing. Water with a hint of something that may have been a malt or hop bud at some point in time.
Taste? Ha! Needs a lime. I'm going limeless this time, again for the sake of science. Water once again. Nearly flavorless. The mouthfeel is watery with a faint hint of bitterness from time to time.
Easy enough to drink, but really, why bother? Drink it out of the bottle as cold as possible if you have to drink it at all. This is expensive swill at usually $16 for a 12 pack. Instead, get yourself some Schlitz; you can stick a lime wedge in there, too, and save yourself a bunch of money.
The company really went through the effort to make Corona Light? Really? It is hard to imagine this being more weak or flavorless.

Like its been stated so many times before. This before should probbaly only be used as a subbstitute for water on hot summer days. It is a light yellow color, and smells skunky. It' taste is watery overall with a very light feel on the tongue and some hints of sourness even with out the lime.

Apperance - Average, a medium goldish yellow color. Nothing too impressive.

Smell - A little sweet, nothing to write home about.

Taste: Tasted kind of sour, the lime did it a little bit of boost but nothing to add impression.

Mouthfeel- Eh is little different. A little rough but not impressive.

Drinkability - Its good hot summer day beer if you're a college student just hanging out. You have to have the limes though.

Poured into an imperial pint.

1 1/2 fingers of head, which were gone when I came back from fetching some pretzels. Light light yellow and very clear. Not unpleasant exactly, but far from my norm.

Malty, I guess? Very light hops scent barely dribbling out of the glass. It basically doesn't smell like anything.

Bitterness, very slight, in the front. Really weird flavor here. Kind of like a sharp maltiness. It actually has a certain amount of citrus sweetness, which would be good for warm weather.

None to speak of. Light carbonation.

Not my top adjunct lager, which still gets to be PBR. It isn't very smooth compared to most others, but it does have some hop citrus, letting me know why it's popular as a summer beer.

God bless my Latino friends for having what seems like about 80 bottles of this in their refrigerator. Without them, I would not be able to try this beer again. Actually that should probably be a federal offense...on with the show.

Pours a very pale golden color with a thin white head that fades to an extremely thin ring very quickly.

No lime in this one! Just that classic Corona skunk and smells of corn syrup and other adjunct aromas.

Taste is mildly sweet with corn, other grains, and this really great skunky profile. I didn't drainpour it, I just drank it extremely cold and extremely fast.

Lots of carbonation and it leaves this strange bite on the back of the tongue.

Let's just say if this were to go above 40°F, I think you'd have to get rid of it immediately. But hey if its a hot day and you can polish this off in under 2-3 minutes then mission accomplished I suppose. And yeah, forget about a glass, just do the lime thing and go straight out the bottle. I can't imagine why people pay for this stuff...it's basically just overpriced, imported Budweiser. If prices were equal, I'd probably choose this over Bud but is that honestly saying much?

A - This beer pours a very pale yellow straw color. It has a small 1-finger white fizzy head on it. The head fizzled out quickly leaving no lacing on the glass. There are plenty of rising carbonation bubbles visible as well.

S - It smells of pale malts and corn adjunct. There is also a small touch of hop presence as well. It pretty much smells like your average adjunct lager, but the smell is less offensive to me than many of the other adjunct lagers out there.

T - The taste is sweet pale malts and corn adjuncts up front. There is also a bit of a sour taste in the background, and some hop presence as well. The finish is actually pretty clean, and leaves just a bit of earthy bitterness and a touch of sourness behind.

M - This has a light body and high prickly carbonation. It goes down very easy. and leaves some bitterness in the mouth.

O - The drinkability actually isn't all that bad. It goes down easy, and is pretty good for an adjunct lager. It is one of the least offesnive of the style that I've had.

Corona Extra is nothing special but not horrible either. It is a light gold color. Smell is certainly "adjuncty" as is the taste, which is rather watery. This is the type of beer which is best enjoyed straight out of the bottle, and only when all other options have proven elusive.

Sampled in the bottle, classic style with a thin lime wedge, the Corona signature. Initially surprised at how clear in color this beverage is. Smell without the lime is very skunky, with the lime a little citrus and some skunk aroma. This beer has tons of carbonation, and the taste is a tad of corn, finishing a bit watery, a very one-sided beer, for the price in most markets I've been in, this goes for 6-7 dollars a sixer - anyone can do much better. The only plus, is these are awfully smooth, and just a touch drinkable on a hot, hot day.

Poured from 12oz bottle.

A- Pours a light golden yellow color. One finger white head shows poor retention and leaves no lacing to speak of when I drink it.

S- Muted aroma overall. Some cereal grains and alcohol. That pretty much summed it up for me. The alcohol really isn't all that muted ironically while everything else is. Oh and there is a metallic hint to this that covers the entire nose itself.

T- Cereal grain galore on the front of this beer. I couldn't get over how much this was over done to me at least. Middle has some light metallic flavor to it along with corn..a little less sweet as well. Ending has a bite of alcohol on it along with grassy hay notes..flavors were not as muted as the nose but close.

M- Light mouthfeel. Carbonation is good for the style. Cereal grains and alcohol left on the palate. Aftertaste is light hay, cereal grains, and faded alcohol. Flavors were blended to the best for the style just muted. Metallic off flavors were present. Light alcohol drying on the palate.

D- This beer is drinkable I suppose. I'm not a huge fan of it but I see where people will drink it. Hot summer day this is a nice crisp beer to refresh yourself with. Will I be buying a six pack of it anytime soon? Nope.

Poured from a 24 ounce clear bottle into a tumbler glass.

Appearance: Big white head and a clear yellow body. Nothing noteworthy, but I guess it looks ok.

Smell: Lots of skunk thanks to the clear bottle. Apparently Modelo cares more about the beer bottle than the beer itself. Upon closer investigation I was able to discover the aroma of pale malts.

Taste: More skunk. To quote the notes I wrote when I drank the beer, "yuck".

Before I knew there was such a thing as BeerAdvocate, I drank "better beer" for a long time. Even before that, to me, Corona was "better beer" (at least better than BudMillerCoors). Now after a year or so of being a BA, I thought it a good time to go back to this and see what I think now.

Pours a clear, pale yellow with a very thin layer of bubbles around the ring of the glass. No vigorous pour could unleash anything like a head. Aroma is oily, slight weak malt and hop, with a slightly sour/tart note. Not much there. Flavor Watery, not much there, ends tart and hoppy. Some sharp off-flavor I can't put my finger on. Mouthfeel thin.

Drinkability actually relatively high (compared to other scores). This muust be my fond

A - very light yellow and a weak very white head

S - not much at all; a little sweet malt aroma but not much going on

T - The start is nice and malty but trails off into an almost offensive finish

M - the feel is what you would want from a light beer like this good carbonation

D - it is almost drinkable just a crappy finish doesn't work

Clear glass is a no no

A: Pours a pale straw color. Completely transparent, head is over-fizzly and retention is abysmal

S: Barely anything is noticeable...faint faint grains and wheat, a skunky metallic aroma, and thats it

T: Very light, almost nothing to taste. Faint grains and wheat again with a sour metallic flavor to it. I mean, I'm still in college so macros are pretty abundant and almost unavoidable, but I frown when I see this.

MF/D: Extremely light, over-carbonated, prickly feel, and a sour metallic twang to it

a- appearance is a pale yellowish color white head that fizzes out very quickly

s-nothing special about the aroma of this beer

t-rather light and weak taste for a beer and kinda forgettable for a beer

m- light mouthfeel

d-good drinkablity for a quick fix of beer with minamal enjoyment should be left for college students or thous that would like to drink beer to drink and not really for its taste and deeper flavors

I almost forget that I am drinking a beer when I have this. It more reminds me of a soda that was never sweetened. Pours a yellow, sand like color (or maybe I'm just associating it with those great commercials) with lots of carbonation and no head worthy of mention. Smelled malty and bitter, with a very light, bitter taste that mellows out. Don't drink it without a lime wedge. My favorite macro beer and I don't mind it at times, but definitely should only be consumed during the three warm months of the year.

So I dont normally review macro's but I'm bored. Pours yellow with fizz, no head retention and no lacing. Smell is some malt, some sweet, some corn or grain. Taste is of skunked Bud Light. No, seriously, I really cant distinguish much of anything other than some (presumeably) corn syrup and malt extract. Light and crisp does feel ok on the mouth and though I hate to say it, it is easily drinkable, a refreshing beer on a warm day. Please dont drink for taste though, only drink if its hot and you're thirsty.

Pours a nice looking one and a half finger head, but I'm sure it will be gone soon. The head is completely white, and the body is yellow and completely see through, it also has more carbonation than any beer I can seen in a long time. The body is also completely transparent, the head is pretty much gone, but not to the bare bone, it holds on a little bit which is good. Overall it looks like an adjunct lager, nothing impressive here. The first thing I pick up on the nose is skunk, this is a skunky beer for sure, too bad too, because I think I can actually detect some hops behind that skunk, which is rare for a adjunct lager, after that I smell some sweet malt. I have to give it some credit for having a hop characteristic to it, but for the most part, it's not going to be a good beer because of that skunk. Well it's hard to dissect any flavor out from underneath that skunk flavor, but if I had to it would be that little bit of hops and tiny bit of malt. The skunk just totally overpowers this beer. It's not a god awful taste, like some adjunct lagers have, but it's not a good taste. I mean it's drinkable, and somewhat refreshing, but for the most part it's all skunk. The mouthfeel is very interesting, it has a very fizzy, maybe even thick mouthfeel, so...it's not a typically "good" mouthfeel, but I'll give it some points for being creative. Overall, it doesn't have many good qualities, but it is a unique beer, even if it is because it's so skunky. People always say "Corona and lime" for a reason, it's because it has a unique taste (that tastes happens to go well with limes, but that's aside the point). This isn't a good beer, but I don't want to call it a bad beer, despite what my numbers say, it's drinkable and unique. Fine maybe it is a bad beer, but it's above some of the other bad beers.

Not a very impressive beer. Standard amber color, with a flat taste not much better than American mass-produced lagers. But, it is acceptable at the shore on a hot day, with a lime for extra flavor. It goes down fairly easy. You can do much better for the price.

Pours light yellow colour with a thin rapidly diminishing white head. Large bubbles that are far in between.

Smell is sharp, malty and metallic. There is more of an attitude here than I had expected.

The taste is a different matter though. Unlike the smell it is very bland. There is some corn and some malts but not much else. Carbonation is mild. There is some, but not much, bitterness in the finish.

Neither the mouthfeel, nor the drinkability are nothing to write home about. They don't stand out in any way.

24oz bottle with no date

Pale yellow, almost clear, with a sudsy white head. Smell is skunky grain and a slight sweet malt, light smell that isn't very appealing. Taste is light corn and grain, finish is salty water with a touch of citrus. Mouthfeel starts out full but finishes like tap water.

Overall, this is a weak tasting beer that is very light. Tastes alright with some lime wedges on a hot day, but there are much better alternatives. Someone once described this to me as 'good beer'. I would disagree.

A - Crystal clear straw yellow. Vigorous pour into a tulip glass (hey, why not, right? lol) built a 2 finger head that quickly dissolved into a thin sheet of micro-bubbles.

S - Light waxy bitterness, hay, hint of white bread.

T - Opens with touch of white bread followed quickly by a mild, waxy bitterness. Finish is water and slightly sour.

M - Super thin body. Decent carbonation. Aftertaste carries some sourness along with some mild bitterness in the back of your palate.

D - Very light, fairly refreshing. Some beers are made to be focused on as you drink them, others are made to help you forget you have a beer in your hand. This is the later.

poured from a bottle into a pint glass.
pale urine like colour. slightly sweet smell. starts off with a frothy head that quickly diminishes. no lacing whatsoever. tastes flat and bland its only distinctive feature is a very average sweet citrusy flavour. for me it's a very unenjoyable beer to have but it always manages to make an appearance at parties. this is the one time it may be accecptable to drink it. also i wouldn't even attempt to drink it unless it's ice cold :(

I had this one while vacationing in Las Vegas, NV. Served in a schooner glass.

Pours a pale yellow color and is a clear. Fizzy head is gone in a flash and produces no lacing.

The smell is non-existent except for the lime. There may be some faint fruity aroma in the beer.

The taste us a little grainy (cereal) with a mild citrus flavor and a hop finish. It tastes a bit stale and skunky.

Mouth feel is thin and watery, yet crisp and effervescent.

This is a drinkable beer, but lacks character and flavor. It’s not worth the money for an overpriced import.

Have had this so many times, but the review was done without a lime for the sake of doing a proper review recently. Halfway through I limed it and enjoyed it more, but review is w/out.

Appearance: Yellow and bubbly. A little head, but it's just yellow and clear with strong carbonation. In the style, it's right around BMC.

Smell: Nothing but weak, mild grain and cheap beer smell. With a lime it's citrus-y and more pleasant; without, it's just bland and mild.

Taste: Like the smell, mild and just watery. Very little hop presence and grain alcohol is the main flavor.

Mouthfeel: Carbonated. Heavily. Finishes dry as well, leaving me still thirsty, but when cold it's definitely refreshing enough.

Drinkability: I mean, it's refreshing when served really cold. The carbonation and cold are the two things that really make it worth drinking on a hot day, but really iced tea or water would do the same thing. If you're having one, put some lime in it. It's more a citrus-y drink at that point and less of a beer, and a little more enjoyable that way.

The only reason I don't give this beer an F is because it doesn't actually taste bad... in fact it doesn't really taste at all. The fact that they make a "light" version is laughable. The only time you get any flavor is when it's skunked (and that's far more often than not).
Where do they get off charging this kind of money for something that has no substance and is always light damaged?
The perfect beer for people who don't really enjoy the taste of beer.
P.S. Jamming a lime wedge into it doesn't exactly make you look macho.
