It is what it is. Refreshing on summer days in the sun though.

Appearance - This poured a beautiful straw yellow in color with a nice, pure white head.

Smell - The grain isn't as offense as most examples of this style but still nothing to write home about. It shows surprising depth though so gets decent marks here.

Taste - The grain is a little staler at the taste. It's not horrid or skunked just not approaching good.

Mouthfeel - This is light-bodied of course with some decent carbonation.

Drinkability - This was passable in a category having a very low bar.

Corona Light is like taking something that is already piss-poor and stripping away and little, tiny bit of dignity it might have left. So pale you could read a small-font novel through it; aroma is on par with dropping a handful of grains, corn, and a few nickels into a cup of water; the taste is like drinking said water cup; mouth feel is like shaking up a 7 up and putting your mouth around the opening of the bottle.

It's not good stuff. I mean, it's not offensive or off-putting or anything necessarily, but it's just not really "beer". Its utter absences of the most beer related aromas and tastes make it hard to judge this fairly. Even for beers of this style, there are many better.

If you're gonna waste your time, just get the regular Corona. Don't bother with the Light. It's already light. It doesn't need to be lighter. Any lighter and it's just going to float away.

So I got around to reviewing Corona Light and trust me I meant to pick up the Extra version.
Anyways poured into and English pint glass (22oz).

A- Pours an ultra pale golden yellow fluid that produces a one inch fluffy white head that quickly falls to light froth and little to none lacing.

S- Corn grit, light metallics and hop funk dominate the nose but very mildly.

T-M- Taste is bland with only hints sweet corn husk, musky malts and a astringent like hop twang. Mouthfeel is well... watery and probabley the best part of this beer. Lawn mower beer and quick to drink. Not a favorite at the price.

D- Decent.

I may be in the minority, but I'd prefer Corona Light over ole Corona Extra. I find the light to be more drinkable while keeping similar smell and taste (although slightly more watery.) It's a beer I go back to on occasion but only because my friends swear by it.

12 onz clear bottle

Appearance: Pale straw color with some bubbles on top , nothing to write home about.

Smell: Grains and cooked corn ( and that corn was cooked in a bad way)

Taste Grains, cooked veggies, bitternes and astringet.

Mouthfeel& Drinkability : This beer is no hard on the mouth, even with the bad taste, drinkability???No there's no in here.

Notes : Is there just one clear bottle beer that is good?

The exceptional smell is, of course, polecat. Go ahead, pop an ice cold Corona Light. Take a whiff. Now go look in the road for Pepe LePew's still-twitching remains. Sorry - better look in the bottle. Thar's a skonk in the corn patch yonder, paw... Starts out grainy and sweet, with no hops apparent. Very little flavor outside of sweet grain that dries out slightly in the finish. I think people put a lime in to differentiate it from cooled-off water that was used to boil corn.

My ex-boss' yuppie wife brings this to parties, stuffs a lime wedge in its neck, and sings its praises 'til the end of the earth. That's fine - saves me the cost of hiring a clown to entertain the kids. At least she has the courtesy to finish the damned things up before she leaves.

Every time I drink this stuff I swear it will be the last time. To say it is bad is an understatement. this beer tastes like watered down urine. With no disrespect to Mexico, they say don't drink the water there, this beer is brewed there, do you think they import bottled water to brew? the alcohol content is the only think keeping people from dying from food poisoning.

Pours an extremely clear, extremely pale yellow color. Lots of carbonation bubbles. Not much of a head. Smells slightly husky, other than that not much of anything. Same with the taste...slightly husky, very mild grains, no hoppiness at all. Very bland and watery with an off taste in the finish. Extremely carbonated, pretty crisp. I guess it's fairly drinkable if I had nothing else around...not by choice.

Presentation: CLEAR 12 oz bottle with no freshness date.

Appearance: Clear pale straw with a ever so fading white lace.

Smell: Odd aroma of sweetness and grain ... creamed corn? Hint of sulfur and no apparent skunkiness ... we think we found a survivor.

Taste: Crisp, clean and light bodied with some grainy husky flavours that are mildly astringent yet get a little stronger. Hop bitterness is minimal and the husky astringency builds up more in the end. Finish is quite dry and a bit coarse.

Notes: Did this brew come from the second running or pressings of the mash? On second thought maybe one should put the lime in this brew to mask the astringent off flavors.

I tried this with hesitation, and after tasting it, the hesitation was justified. Poured like yellow water. The taste is watered down and weak. What taste is there is just bad. There is a lingering aftertaste. I won't touch this again even if it's free.

Appearance: minimal head, high carbonation, light straw color, clear

Smell: honey and straw

Taste: straw, honey, some light hops, and chemical

Mouthfeel: light body, slightly bitter, high carbonation.

Drinkability: Even for the style, this one is just bad. There is a very chemical taste to this that does not mix with the straw. Way better options out there.

I ask you, Grupo Modelo, why? Why brew an even weaker version of your famous beer? Less flavor, less aroma, less alcohol. Pours nearly clear. There is no aroma, as all I smell is minerals, which I attribute to the bottle. The taste is a travesty of stale water. This beer sucks.

As everyone else has mentioned, watered down is the flavor. Very light golden color, hinting at no flavor. The carbonation is of the forced air variety, not true carbonation. The lime is a necessity. The corona extra has much more flavor.

After reading a good many of these reviews, it's pretty obvious that there's a vengeful group of drinkers out there that just have it out for the Corona brand. Anyone who would rate this (or Extra for that matter) worse than Southpaw Light, Rolling Rock Green Light or Michelob Ultra either writes their reviews drunk, or doesn't do enough drinking to know any better. It does my heart good to see just how many here have apparently sampled the taste of urine, otherwise they'd apparently have no other words to describe a subpar beer. Anyways, back to beer...

Corona Light isn't particularly flavorful, but at least it's inoffensive (or at least it has been EVERY time I've had it). Squeeze in your lime, and you can drink them for hours without thinking about it. Color is extremely light, but not piss-yellow. Pours a minimal head that disappates quickly, and leaves an non-existance lace. Mouthfeel is ok, plenty carbonated, this one is.

This would be a good outside beer, as it quenches a thirst quite nicely, but unfortunately, at $12-$13 at the grocery store ($9 at my Total Wine), it's a bit pricy. That's the biggest offense, the price. This is nowhere near as bad as some would have you think, but it's not worth what they charge for it. If you want the same thing out of a cheap light beer, High Life Light isn't awful, and if you want good Mexican beer, pick up some Dos Equis or Negra Modelo.

Its Corona Light. Enough said.
Its wide distribution, clear bottles and mass market strategy makes this beer easily attainable in the US, Mexico and in some other regions. A skunky smell and taste is typical and has become characteristical to the beer. Light malt taste, bitter aftertaste and high carbonation represent this beer's experience in my mind - reminds me of eating stale-ish popcorn. I do find it enjoyable in certain occasions, like lying in a beach in Mexico, but by no means is this something I typically go after.

Looks like urine after wrestling practice or cutting weight/sweating. Smell is similar as well.

Taste, well, I've had worse stuff on a summer day around the pool. One of the rare occasions the lime w/ beer tastes better than the 'beer'.
Really doesn't taste like beer. No excuse to drink this unless it is over 85 degrees.

This was my step dad's go to beer many moons ago when I was growing up, more so Extra than Light but Corona was his quality beer. Budweiser was his regular offering, btw. Again light pale golden clear bodied lager, low in alcohol. No lime wedge squeezed and shoved down the neck of the bottle for me. A good old fashioned pour into a fluted pils glass. Very pale yellow, quickly fleeting white head really no lace is left behind. Sorry looking beer, let's go for a few sniffs...cooked veggies/corn/rice with a solvent green/skunked/grassiness. Wow, this is the worst fuckin' beer I've ever tasted, it's got off flavors coming at the palate from every direction. I though cold temp would make this beer more suitable, this is unbearable. At first sip it was terrible, second sip no better not as rough. The off flavors begin to actually justify themselves and if served cold enough without a lime you may be able to drink the whole bottle. I'm starting to get a headache half way through, and I have drank mass produced swill beer my whole life, wtf? My head is now tingling like a just huffed on chemicals. This beer tastes wrotten with skunked/strong carbonation cooked vegetables not much sweetness or fruitiness pretty clean finish. Mouthfeel is watery/carbonation is crazy high like I just dropped an alka seltzer in it. Drinkability overall is a never again verdict, I will never dance with this devil again.

A pint on tap as part of the (re?)introduction of this beer in keg form ... this is a good idea for a beer bottled in clear glass.

Appearance: Pours clear, thin-looking, and very pale yellow in color with a short-lived white head.

Smell: Contrary to many reviews of the bottled version, this was not particularly skunky or sulfuric. Instead, it had a faint aroma of light, bready malt.

Taste: very light, as advertised, featuring a touch of barley grain with a bit of corn and a hint of hops,

Mouthfeel: Very thin-bodied with a water feel, but given some life by the medium carbonation.

O: Not offensive but not much to like either. At least I got a free hat.

(Served in a short strange)

A- This beer pours a pale translucent body with a hint of yellow when compared to water. There is a rapid carbonation of big bubbles that feeds a snow-white head for a very short time.

S- This beer has a faint hop note that smells like chemical hops with no depth or character at all, just bitter hops. There is a dry sulfur note to the hops that comes through more as it warms. No smell of malt or adjunct at any time during this beer.

T- The light clean dry taste had a faint hint of bitter hops at the finish. There was a carbonic acid bite that left the finish tasting like club soda. The slight sulfur taste in the finish dried out the beer even more.

M- This beer is extra light with a fizz finish.

D- This beer had very little characteristics of beer with no malt flavor and no hop depth. It was not offensive just bland and fizzy.

If you're wondering, it's because I made a point of trying bottle and tap. If you're wondering, it's pretty much the same.

Again, just sampling a friend's to get a review. It's actually not as bad as expected, which isn't saying much.

I've seen worse. It's actually a little darker than the extra, oddly enough, and doesn't look quite so watered-down. Unimpressive in every way, though.

Smell is a little artificial sweetness with some corn. A bit of astringency in there as well.

You can sort of tell this is a beer. There are some hops in there and a little graininess. Otherwise, flavors are skunk, astringency and, again, corn.

Watery, though to its credit it is a little crisp.

Mildly drinkable.

It's not the worst I've had, honestly, but I'm not buying it just to have something. Quality over quantity, and this one is the latter.

My girlfriend loves this stuff (with lime of course). Yesterday she showed up with a 12pack and a couple of limes. This beer gets slammed a lot and I really don't know why, it is what it is, a light lager and IMHO not a bad one and a cut above most of its macro competition. For the price difference I would probably go for some Tecate in a can instead, Corona is overpriced.

My last review was on hot summer day and it was fine, in fact at the moment I couldn't think of a beer I'd rather have. Yeaterday, a relatively cool day, it didn't hit the spot as closly as before but it wasn't bad at all, it was a damn good thirst quencher but not nearly as nice as the Hoegaarden I followed it with.

Drank straight out of the bottle, don't want to ruin my glassware.

Pale golden color. Easily seen without pouring due to the magic of clear bottles!

Smells like skunky bread water.

Tastes like skunky bread water.

Mouthfeel is OK, I mean it's carbonated and thankfully very, very cold.

Overall: One of the worst beers. Waste of calories...even as a light beer. Usually when a beer requires a strong citrus flavor to make it palatable you're only really tasting the fruit anyways

330ml bottle, a straggler from the ski chalet fridge last week.

This beer pours a thoroughly clear, light golden colour, with two fingers of puffy, fizzy, and momentarily bubbly dirty white head, which sinks away like someone let the air out of its tires, leaving a bit of random streaky lace around the glass.

It smells a heck of a lot like sushi, that is, leftover sushi with that mealy, congealed rice odor, and a kind of vegetal, crisp snow peas character - wait, that sounds way too good for this - oh, there it is, some wet cardboard and faint fusel come to save the day! The taste is very light, sweet white rice in liquid form, soggy saltines, a pithy rotten fruit essence, and weak straw/floral esters that may or may not be construed as hops.

The carbonation is actually quite strong, but mostly in a frothy, airy sort of manner, the body quite thin in its weighting, and smooth like hard water. It finishes with a mealy (diluted rice and corn) sweetness, and some lingering muddled vegetal acridity.

North of 49, they actually have to label the ABV on even this kind of stuff, and it's 3.7%, as if it really matters. Anyways, not overly offensive, plain, and not good for much, unless you're hemorrhaging fluids on vacation somewhere, and still want to appear to be drinking.
