12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. No stamped date.

Appearance - Takes an extremely vigorous pour to get even a one finger head; white with low retention and zero stick. Ultra pale clear gold body.

Smell - Skunk. The faintest of corn malt.

Taste - Some acidity. Semi-dry. Faint stale wet cardboard. Mostly water; but that which is noticable is generally offensive.

Mouthfeel - Watery. You have to swish to to get any vestige of carbonation.

Overall Drinkability - Water with a few drops of stale coffee dripped into it, filtered with old cardboard. Just imagine what Budweiser would taste like if it was diluted with 3 parts water. Had to squeeze in an orange wedge just to finish it.

A: faint yellow/straw body, up + down head,
zero lacing (just lots of bubbles)

S: sweet corn/grain

T: light grain, sweet corn, too watery, semi-dry finish

M: light body, huge bubbly mouth

O: Got this as a goof at a restaurant, just to see
how much difference a regular Corona w/lime
and a Corona Light (no lime). OH MY!
This a very weak/watered down light beer.
There are plenty of much better light beers
out there, if want to go for volume.

AVOID THIS BEER!

Review #700.

Some friends of mine, who don't know crap about craft beer, gifted these to me at a Halloween party that I recently hosted. The beer we had that night: Flying Dog: The Fear (a case!), Port City Optimal Wit, Duck Rabitt Milk Stout, Victory Headwaters PA, Great Lakes Octoberfest, and Hacker-Phorr Octoberfest. Despite all of that yummy goodness, people drank more Corona Lights that night than all the others. I'm depressed...

Drank right out of the bottle...for the first time in ages!

A: Clear yellow piss with a few bubbles lurking throughout, but nothing to write home about.

S: Not much of a smell, but what was there smelled a bit like gasoline.

T: My imaginary cash register ring up on this beer would come up like this: "House beer...$1 even." Pretty blah, thin stuff, with a mild sweet breadiness on the end.

M: Kinda spritzy and with no lingering whatsoever. I can see how non-beer types dig this.

O: TIP: I added about 5 lime slices to the bottle and my rating instantaneously jumped up to a "B." Wait a minute... isn't that just straight up lime juice? I friggin love lime juice!

look: 2 | smell: 1.5 | taste: 2 | feel: 1.5 | overall: 2

Appearance: Pours a very pale, clear straw color. Lots of carbonation initially, dwindles to low carbonation in about 20 seconds, oddly. About 3/4" white head forms that has poor retention and no lacing.

Smell: Corn, extremely small noble hop character, a bit of skunkiness. Not unexpected, but not real good.

Taste: Adjuncts are apparent, with maybe a hint of pale malt, and a very small amount of noble hops. Do not get as much skunk on the palate, which is nice.

Mouthfeel/Overall: Mouthfeel is extremely light and watery with prickly carbonation. Not real smooth going down. Overall, what I expected. At least it was not skunked to the level of some I have had in the past. In an reasonably normal state (sans skunkiness), this beer is not as bad as most would make it out to be. Still, it is certainly not good, or even decent.

I had never had this and decided it was tine. Drank from bottle during Happy Hour on Taco Tuesday at Mi Pueblo. Never again. I took a sip and nearly gagged. I gave it to my friend who doesn't care about craft beer. He took a sip and he nearly gagged as well. two sips and then left the bottle.

I understand the ratings on this site based on comparisons with non-light beers, but for a light, this has been my beer of choice for several years. I actually like the grainy scent and taste. By the way, I normally go for hop-heavy beers, so go figure???

First, I do not understand why this beer has a "poor" reputation. It's decently drinkable, crisp and clean. Yes, so is water! But, we are discussing LIGHT beer here! (Anyone old enough to remember GABLINGERS ? The only beer I ever added salt to! Lime could not save this!!)
Like water, this is a brew for quenching thirst, not savoring!

Poured into 10oz pilsner glass. Poured a very light golden yellow color with just a thin ring of white head that had no retention or lace.

The aroma had a faint grain scent as the only noticeable feature. The flavor was the same, some grain, no hops. The body, while light, was clean and crisp. The beer was easily drinkable, but with this lack of flavor, why bother?

If you're in the mood for a light beer, there are better ones available.

It's a typical summer light beer. Best consumed with a lime. Pours light clear yellow with some visible carbonation but very little/no head. I can't comment on the the smell because I didn't really smell like anything and the aroma from the lime was actually predominant. The taste is nothing to be impressed about: light corn, skunky and metallic. The mouthfeel is very light and you can tell it goes down pretty well.

Overall, this can be a good refreshing beer for hot summer days with low alcohol content but if you're looking for something tastier and stronger then look somewhere else.

Pours a golden yellow with a very thin lacing of head that quickly fades. There's noticeable bubbles. Smell is incredibly faint; grainy nothing else. Taste is also very faint; grains and corn. Mouthfeel is crisp and clean, maybe a little over carbonated.

12oz into a pint glass.

Pours absolutely crystal clear, and a very light straw color. Almost like some scotches I have seen. Tons of tiny bubbles dance to the top with haste, and no head.

The smell is adjunct grains, soap, and minerals. Very forward with these smells too, nothing behind it.

Subtle sweet grains and nasty astringency. Mineral and a little bit of stale sweat.

Mouthfeel is like carbonated water. Ultra thin and wet, with a tingle from the champagne-like carbonation.

Overall, this is your typical American adjunct lager. Tons off strange flavors that aren't really appealing on any levels, but it's cheap and easily drank on a hot day. Oh well, to each his own.

Appearance- light straw color, hardly and head that dissolves quickly.

Smells of corn, grains, not much else going on.

Taste- not much going on at all. Some grains but mostly water.

Mouthfeel- Very thin, basically carbonated water.

Overall not for me, maybe a good chick beer but that's about it.

Corona Light as in most Mexican beers taste best in the summer with a lime...however, judging Corona Light solomente...its just another no frills cerveza! The beer poors golden clear with good carbonation that give a white foamy head for a brief time. The smell and taste are enhanced with grain. The hops help somewhat with the taste so that it is not bread water. Mouthfeel is easy especially on hot days...enjoy!

A - Straw colored with small bubbles coming to the top, no head.

S - Faint smell of grains, maybe corn.

T - Not a lot of flavor, watery with a slight taste of grains, a bit of skunk. Better with lime in it.

M - very light body with carbonation that feels good on the tongue.

O - If you're on the beach and have a lime then it's not bad, it is what it is.

A: The pour on this is a pale yellow color with a towering white head.

S: How I love the smell of skunk and corn. Lots of metallic notes are also there, as is a fair amount of apple juice. There's also quite a bit of sulfur to it, which is never a good thing.

T: Strong sulfur and skunk flavors, unfortunately, but not surprisingly. Metal is a prominent flavor as is sweet corn and apple juice. Light grassy hops and bitterness.

M: Light in body with a medium to high level of carbonation.

O: Not sure which is worse, this or regular Corona. Not sure it really matters, either.

I'm not expecting this to be good, but I might as well give it a try. My bottle says 3.6% ABV.

It has a very pale straw colour, and is extremely clear. There is basically no head to speak of aside from a slight foam around the edges of the glass.

The smell is very skunky to start. There are also some grainy aspects, but nothing great. Not unappealing yet though.

There is barely any flavour to speak of. It's very reminiscent of sparkling water for the most part. I'm left with a fair amount of bitterness and some slight grainy flavour. The flavour is not balanced well.

Overall, this is purely a marketing gimmick. Nobody would elect to drink this beer because of the taste (nobody with taste anyways). Considering Corna Extra is fairly light already, I can't recommend this beer for any reason.

12 oz. bottle with a lemon wedge the beer makes a good refreshing summer time beer. Without the lemon wedge dont even bother, it is no good but if you need a cold beer it will do in a pinch.
A-Very light lager
S-Very light lager
T-Very light skunky lager unless you have a lemon wedge
m-much like any other light lager

From 07/02/11 notes.

a - Pours a clear straw yellow color with two inches of fluffy white head and moderate to high carbonation evident. Looks pretty much like normal Corona Extra.

s - Smells of corn, grain, light sour bready malts.

t - Tastes of corn, vegetables, sour/skunkiness, bready malts.

m - Light watery body and high carbonation. Too carbonated.

o - Call me crazy, but I actually thought this was slightly better than Corona Extra. Extra had a little bit mroe skunkiness to it in the taste, so this one is getting the nod. Still not a good beer, and I suggest going for most anything else.
