Pours very pale straw with outstanding clarity. Fizzy one finger head, but holds a thin cap for a moment and leaves a spec or two of lace. Clean nose, just some faint corn and rice aromas. Malted rice bite upfront followed by a flash of extra pale malt sweetness. Semi-dry aftertaste that hints at a saaz-esque spiciness and skunk. Very light in flavor, but balanced an in no way offensive. Thin body and high carbonation give it crisp and watery mouthfeel; but seems conducive to high drinkability in a humid weather. (518 characters)

has a golden yellow hue, much better than other lighter cheap beers. The smell is my favorite attribute, smells strong of rich barley has that grainy scent. The taste is pretty good I'd say, well considering what kind of beer youre dealing with, somehting that of course is great on a hot day. Slightly alcoholic but fades back to refreshing grains. The mouthfeel actually surprised me. Semi-full good end note. This is my favorite from Mexico (443 characters)

A supermarket grab and an alternative to Corona. Poured a honey color with a white fizzy head that died before I finished typing this sentence. Smell is nothing spectacular - grainy malt with a barely detectable hop aroma. The taste is not too bad - malt overtones, dry hop finish, slightly over-balanced on the side of the hops. Carbonation is very active in the mouth, and it really hits the tip and the back of the tongue. A very drinkable beer that should go quite well with burritos tonight. (496 characters)

Pacifico is a nice beer for a hot summer day. Goes down smooth, but leaves a slight unpleasant after taste possibly from the corn. No freshness date to be found on the brown bottle with bright yellow lable. It is comparable to other Mexican beers like Corona and Sol. (267 characters)

12 oz dark brown bottle.

I always considered this to be the Mexican version of Grain Belt Premium. Maybe it was the corn taste or it being slightly sweeter than usual. Either way I don't care what most people say I rather enjoyed this. Very drinkable, good carbonation and taste. (280 characters)

Poured from the 12oz bottle into a large mug.

A: The beer is a pure yellow with tons of carbonation coming though. Head was sad - 1 finger with poor retention.

S: Surprisingly good - malty with lots of bread. Some slightly fruity hops coming through but not much. Alright.

T: Bread and corn sweetness. A touch of some fruity sweetness, but alot of corn. A lot better than some similar brews like Corona. I will take this with Mexican most times.

It's an ok brew very drinkable and alright tasting. (501 characters)

Consumed in October 2004 in Cancun, Mexico from a bottle. I've had many of these before, so I figured I would have it again and actually write some notes on it. A pretty decnt beer! I'm even a little impressed. Pours an amber color with a small head and the slightest of lacing. Smells of sweet, maybe fruity or floral hops. Maybe a bit of corn or rice or something I can't really tell what the other scent is. The hops in this beer are pretty tasty. Good, in fact maybe a bit too mach carbonation. Not really watery at all. A very good beer while sitting on the beach or kicking back with a few fish tacos. Wish they had buckets of these on the beach instead of Corona. (670 characters)

Pacifico. For summer brew enjoyment, I usually go for unfiltered wheat, and there are many great ones out there. But for a change in pace I work in a six pack of Corona Extra on occasion. The Pacifico is a good choice as well. The bubbly head dissipates quickly, but the golden beer itself maintains a constant stream of sparkling bubbles. There is more aroma, and a bit more flavor to a Pacifico than a Corona Extra. A beer purist will scoff, but try to down a Belgian Double on a hot, sweaty day. There is a place for a cold Pacifico in this world. (550 characters)

I think this beer should be taken for what it is, a great session beer. There are beers out there that taste phenomenal, but you wouldn't want to drink more than 2-3 of them. While this beer has a pretty sticky aftertaste (probably the corn), it doesn't have the tang of the other americana mainstays - corona, bud et al. It also has a surprising maltiness that I would have thought would not appeal to the market (try a warm one as opposed to a cold one) that gives a very nicely rounded mouth feel. While it does have the sticky aftertaste, it is in every other way quite clean, which is a nice compromise between pure bitters and pure lagers. This is a good beer for good sunny times. I don't think it's going to be winning any awards for being super amazing or innovative, but sometimes having your socks blown off only means you need to be buying new socks all the time! It also has the nice attribute of not giving a man next morning fog (that's what the outstanding is for). (981 characters)

This has to be my new second favorite Mexican brew its delicious with Mexican dining and pairs perfectly with it. Bought on a whim from the Ranch Market near my home and was pleasently surprised by the taste and smell all around great taco beer. Negro Modelo is still #1 but this is a close second. (298 characters)

The colour is the average straw yellow. A positive comment about the appearance of the bottle and packaging is that it is unlike the other pretentious looking Mexican beers sold in clear bottles. The bottle labeling actually made the beer look more "refreshing" and more "authentic", or so I believe.

This is an easy drinking beer with a bland taste. Whats nice about it is that it does have a nice hint of floral aroma and a slight hops taste. Very clean though. The taste of the beer becomes even cleaner with along with some salt potatoe chips. Slight corn taste, but its all good. (587 characters)

Pretty standard Mexican pale lager.
Pours a dark yellow, clear with a thin white head.
Smell is unremarkable, beery, but not bad.
It tastes better than you'd expect. I liked this one more than Corona, but not as much as Modelo Dark.
Good drinkable beer for Mexican / Tex-Mex parties. (290 characters)

Pours gold with a one inch fluffy white head. Minor lacings which disappear fairly soon. Aroma is typical macro. Taste is slightly sweet malts with a decent hop bitterness in the finish. Kind of a junior pilsner. Mouthfeel is good with a slightly astringent aftertaste. Makes you want another taste. Easy drinker and would be a good beach beer or any other hot day event. Certainly more character than Corona Extra. And as an added bonus no skunk whatsoever. (458 characters)

Poured from a 24oz bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance/Smell - Appears golden/yellow with very high carbonation, and just a whiff of head that dies down very quickly like soda pop or seltzer water. The carbonation is pretty inviting & somewhat unique, champagne like strings of bubbles escape evenly throughout. Leaves no lacing, but it's what is expected for the type of beer it is. Smells of sweet corn, rice, hints of grain, hints of mixed vegetables and fruity aromas consisting mostly of pair, apple & grape. Aromas are pretty much average.

Taste/Mouthfeel - Tastes very similar to the aroma, fruity grape & pair, some apple, and of course lots of rice & grain flavors. Surprisingly has a nice hop bitterness on the finish, as well as some subtle malt and a little dryness. Flavors aren't outstanding though, in fact a little watered down & absent. Mouthfeel is thin, tad silky, crisp and lite bodied with a small bite of carbonation on the tongue despite the high carbonation appearance.

Drinkability/Final thoughts - Overall not bad, surprisingly had some slightly different hop characteristics with some dryness on the finish, something I haven't experienced in a beer of it's type. It definitely reminded me of Dos Equis Lager, easy drinking, not complex but manages to pull some flavor out. I thought it was okay but I would have appreciated more flavor, the flavors were a little drowned out. Id say give it a try because it does taste better than allot of beers out there in the same category. Cheers! (1,517 characters)

This is one beer to goes well with a plate of spicy tacos. Don't bother pouring into a glass, the bottle works just fine for its smooth delivery. Sweet with the typical macro-brew taste. Nothing special, but makes a summer time beer. Sometimes I find it for $5/6-pk, not a bad deal. Average beer from Mexico. (308 characters)

After some margaritas this beer was an OK finisher. Went well with tortilla chips and such, but I would have liked something else. Not a big fan of the fruit in the beer, but it was a Mexican Restaurant, afterall. I thought the drinkability was good, but I wish I would have chosen a Carona. (291 characters)

Another one of the drop-offs from family over the weekend.

Pale pale yellow beer with a surprisingly nice fluffy white head that sticks to the glass and laces nicely.

Very nice, sweet smell with more of a malt aspect than the grain aspect. Not too shabby.

The sweetness continues, with a bit of honey flavor initially and then comes the bitterness. Not overwhelming bitterness, but it does invade the aftertaste a bit. Very adjunct styling, with grains dominating the flavor overall throughout.

Balanced feel but a bit watery.

You know what? I like it for an adjunct lager. Sometimes, you could see yourself drinking a beer that doesn't necessarily knock you away. It is smooth and flavorful enough, and is very good for this style. (737 characters)

A: I am assuming Claro means clear, because its very very light looking.

S: extremely light to me. maybe corn but not much else

T: Very little flavor, zero hoppy flavor, but still more enjoyable than other cruddy Mexican beers. Still not the worlds best by a long shot. You have to commit beer blasphemy and put a lime in it to have it maintain ANY flavor

M: Very fizzy and watery

D: this is a beer for people who really dont like beer. or just want to get a buzz off of something that is so light that it tastes next to nothing. Although due to that, it wouldn't be impossible to drink a bunch because of its light and simple nature. Altogether not great, but not terrible... (680 characters)

A refreshing beer good for when you want something light

A- Yellow-gold poured aggresively for a 1-finger head that fads down to a ring quickly. Many noticeable streams of carbonation

S- Hard to get any smell at all. A bit of crispness that is faintly citric and faintly metallic

T- Taste is light and grainy. Not bad

M- Lots of carbonation and a light body make this one a mouth-pleaser

D- Quite refreshing and a good palate-cleanser (439 characters)

Had a bottle with some Mexican black bean soup (I forget the Spanish name) at Casa Toro in Coopersburg. Served fresh and cold, I poured it into a pint glass, but had no head retention over the clear gold body.

I actually found the beer to be surprisingly decent, more like a Euro pale lager. It tasted somewhere between Miller Lite and great helles lager. There's more clean bready malt than cooked vegetable (there's very little) and some subtle toast and fruity lager character. I'd say this is on par with Becks and certainly a step up from most Mexican adjunct beers. (572 characters)

As far as Mexican Lagers go, this one is about as good as they get. They are cheaper than water there and better for you too. Best enjoyed with Mexican food or for remembering those trips from years ago.

Pale yellow in color. Not much flavor (I guess that's why you add the lime). Thin. Not my favorite Mexican beer but will do the job every six to twelve months. (366 characters)

Pours forth with a clean white head settling over clear pale yellow amply carbonated liquid. Nose is clean malt with a background corny adjunct and zip in the hop dept. The taste is sweet at first, then a carbonic palate burn, some delicate maltiness and the barest suggestion of hoppiness. Finishes semi-sweet and light. All in all a decent lawnmower brew, nothing more nothing less, senor. (391 characters)

A: FIzzy yellow beer with a soda pop head that disappates quickly. No lacing on the glass and just a hint of carbonation on the sides to let you know its a beer.

S: Malts, hops, barley - non-distinct.

T: More flavor than a Corona but not by much.

M: Soda pop feel. Relatively light but.

O: Decent brew for a hot summer day. (327 characters)

Straw color, crystal clear. Some rising carbonation. Thin soapy head.

Sweet grain and corn.

Sweet grain, cereal, some corn. Slight bitterness towards the end. Finish is dry, very crisp. Body is thin, crisp, refreshing, dry, fizzy.

It's a decent beer. (305 characters)

Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass.

Appearance: pours a thin 1/2" head that recedes quickly leaving a bit of lacing. Color is light golden with plenty of streaming carbonation.

Aroma: mild aroma of hay, grass, and lightly roasted barley.

Mouthfeel: light and watery with a pleasant, refreshing finish.

Taste: bready malts dominate, a bit of lemon balances out the sweetness of this brew.

Overall: well made and enjoyable Mexican lager. Nothing unpleasant, and better than ordinary. (493 characters)
