Another big shoutout to my best pal biegaman for hooking us up with another Mexican gem, Pacifico Clara!

Pours a straw yellow, crystal clear, thin white head, some lace spots, settles to a thin layer. Smell is sweet, corny, citrus, kind of odd. Taste is similar, sweet and corny, some citrus, somewhat nasty, very weak. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium carbonation. Another stellar beer courtesy of Jan, thanks man!! (424 characters)

This pours from 24oz bottle(cost $2.75) a pale gold with a small, fast receding head of foam and poof, it's gone.

The smell is light but it's dominated by corn.

The taste has some kind of citrus taste up front that's on the bitter side but not too pleasant. Oh, and there's the corn....that's enough. There's not much more that I can say about it than that it's a pretty poor excuse for a beer. I won't buy this again. (420 characters)

Scored this down in Tijuana. Quart size bottle, neat little whale on the label. Kinda went downhill after that.

Yellow beer. No head lace, wasn't even all that clear despite seemingly being 98% water. Smell was industrial, light corn. Taste was similar. Mouthfeel, just really like those flavored waters, not as sweet. Easy enough to drink, goes decent enough with the chicken/dog tacos. (388 characters)

bottle poured into pint glass 2/5/12

A clear straw yellow with giant bubbles but little for head or lace

S slightly skunky, corny with soggy rice cake

T some sour vegatal notes and a little lemon on top of what I smell, not so great

M thin with lots of bubbles, thankfully it has a pretty clean finish

O pretty basic stuff much like many Mexican lagers I've tried

one of those beers where you pretty much know how its going to be before cracking the bottle. I'd drink it before Mexican tap water but not in many other situations, don't bother (551 characters)

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle with no expiration date or lot code. Sampled on August 8, 2009. The pour is straw yellow with virtually no head but the head that is there lingers the entire time. No lime used. The aroma is corny, grainy, and a bit malty. The mouthfeel is basically medium to thin but is has a kind of honey texture on the tongue. The flavor has a little malts and a smidgen of hops. But actually the taste makes me think of some kind of steak sauce or seasoning! It is hard to describe but that was what I felt. Next time I will use the lime. (554 characters)

Pours a straw gold color with a one-finger head that quickly fades, leaving sparse carbonation.

Aroma is sweet and grainy with a hint of corn in the nose. Surprisingly, doesn't seem skunked in aroma.

Taste is smooth and a bit watery with grainy malt, corn and just a bit of sweetness. Seems quite bland. Inoffensive.

Not much for a mouthfeel here. Just slightly lingering corn and grain. Quite like drinking water.

I expected worse but this is really quite average. It's hardly a beer but it excels at being average. (521 characters)

Picked this up tonight because it is one of the few Mexican beers available here that I haven't tried (next up is the Casta line which just reached Spec's in Houston). Appearance is standard adjuct yellow, not too watery, with almost no head. Smell is clean, no skunk because of the brown bottle, otherwise it's grainy. Taste is predictably grainy and middle-of-the-road. One-dimensional, but not really bad. This is better than it's American counterparts, but not worth $6.79 a sixer. (485 characters)

12 ounce bottle, bought a single of this at World Market (Easton). Served in a nonic pint glass, the beer pours a clear straw golor color with about an inch white head. Head retention is low, but there is a good amount of lacing left on the glass. Aroma is sweet malt and corn/adjuncts. Not a bad aroma, but it's not great either. Taste is pretty much all sweet malt. With that being said, there aren't any "off" aromas or flavors in this beer. Mouthfeel/body is light, it's not watery at all and it's well carbonated. Truthfully, this isn't hard to drink at all, it does go down easy. I certainly wouldn't make a point to seek this out, but if someone gave me a bottle I wouldn't turn it down either. For the style, it's not a bad beer, and would be pretty easy to drink on a hot day. (785 characters)

I’m not sure why I torture my taste buds with this kind of beer, knowing I don’t like them, but here it goes anyway.

Beer pours a translucent bright gold and the head modest in size, brilliantly white with the lace thin sheets clinging to the glass. Malt nose, crisp and clean, front is malt, the top cadaverous, finish astringent, hops AWOL, dry aftertaste, drinkable, but leaves me “Lost In Space”, Danger Will Robinson, contagion in a bottle. (452 characters)

12oz bottle from Vonns Palm Springs CA for 1$

Appearance - Clear gold colour with an average size fizzy white coloured head. There is an average amount of carbonation showing and there is some faint acing. The head lasted for 3-4 minutes.

Smell - Breads/grains, corn

Taste & Mouth - There is an average amount of carbonation and I can taste corn mixed with some bread and grains. There is also some light hops and some grass and a skunkiness. It ends with acorn/husk grainy adjunct aftertaste.

Overall - Not good.. I'd take a Corona over this any day, and that's not saying much. There is just way too much corn syrup type taste going on. It tastes like it was made with very cheap ingredients. (698 characters)

Its a mexi beer, so that pretty much says it all. I've drank from the bottle, love how in Mexico they put a tiny littel key lime on the top.

When your in Mexi its great with the little key limes they put on top, but I wouldn't drink it anywhere else.

I like it better than Corona. (282 characters)

A: Poured fro a bottle to a pint glass. Had a yellow color and a clear texture. Not much head or lacing.

S: There was a funky, grainy smell, along with a little citrus and hops.

T: A tiny bit of lemon and hops, but mainly this beer has a grainy taste that's pretty unpleasant. Other than that, it's very thin.

M: Not a whole lot of carbonation. A dry finish.

D: Yet another beer modelled after the American macro swill. Totally uninteresting and devoid of character. (470 characters)

Color is a not very impressive clear straw-yellow. Aroma is crisp and typically lagerish, not complex and not at all promising. Flavor is rather thin and watery, a little malty with just a little bit of a zing and a teeny hint of hop bitterness. Texture is fairly smooth and rather watery. (289 characters)

12 oz bottle pours a clear, light yellow color with a "blink and you miss it" white head. Lacing and retention are obviously non-existent.

Nose has a light fruity lager yeast aroma with some corny sweetness and grainy malt. Light and crisp, not a bad smelling mexi-lager.

Light doughiness and grainy malt in the flavor without many off-flavors showing. Mild melon fruit and a light, crisp hopping on the finish. Lightly sweet, adjuncts are evident as the body is very light and not much malt flavor. An above average AAL and this one makes a damn fine michelada. (564 characters)

A: A clear gold/yellow color with not much head and no lace.
S: Not much to note. Some hops and corn. Average for a Mexican lager.
T: Not bad. I use to drink this all the time, and still enjoy it from time to time. A good alternative to Corona.
D: Very drinkable. Smooth and not bitter at all. I can put several of these away pretty fast.

Nothing to write home about, but not bad. Made by the same company as Corona, but more flavor and body. I will grab one of these any time over Corona or some of the other generic Mexican lagers. (535 characters)

Pours a pale yellow color with tons of bubbles, active head with little retention or lacing. Scent is almost non existent with only minimal qualities of pale straw and light cooked corn. Taste is also very light with the corn tastes overshadowing the pale straw, light hop extract flavor with minimal bitterness and some faint astingency. Overly carbonated and bubbly, very light body. Not much of a winner with the strong cooked corn flavors and high carbonation. (464 characters)

Mixed feelings on this one....the nose is corny and smells a little like a cheap adjunct lager...fizzy in the mouth with a little lemon spritz on the taste too....the taste lacks the cheap corny feel to it....more of a pure graininess and finishes dry....lighter bodied but not watery...carbonation is relatively high...

For a basic mexican lager it is decent...not sure if I like it better than Tecate or Carta Blanca or Dos Equis or Corona since I have not had those in awhile....

If I lived in Mexico and was hot and sweaty all the time and eating a lot of spicy food and this was priced reasonably I'd drink it...but in my store it's $8-9 for a sixer...I can't justify buying it at that price...wouldn't mind doing a blind taster sometime with the mexican lagers if I could be assured they were all fresh.... (818 characters)

The color is the tried and true pale yellow of the classic adjunct lager. Also typical is the nonexistent head but consistent foam and negligible lacing.
Corn is on the nose with a light, unoffensive sweetness accompanying and ever present are cereal grains.
The flavor is typical corn and cereal grains as per the aroma, with that faint sweetness still present and I swear there's some lime in here; not fake, just a subtle hint of lime juice lingering just out of reach. Maybe I'm crazy. There's actually just the slightest touch of bitterness in here as well, mostly in the finish.
The mouthfeel isn't bad; a moderately crisp feel and fairly even, obviously in a very light body with moderate carbonation.
It's no worse than a typical American adjunct; it's just a Mexican version of the same. (796 characters)

Not bad for an "exotic" beer, and definitely better than Corona. However it is not really worth drinking unless you are stranded in Mexico and can't pronounce anything else. (173 characters)

Pretty standard AAL. Cardboard and malt. Only drinkable extremely cold. A good beer to drink with spice Mexican food. Also doesn't hurt when you buy a case of these for under $15. (183 characters)

Pours a clean pale yellow with a small white head that goes away fast. In the aroma, well, lack there of aroma, nothing at all. In the taste, a small dry faint lager with a small hint of fruit. A small bite and light bodied mouthfeel, with a small dry hint of fruit. Clean and watery, no big flavor or aroma at all. (315 characters)

Odd duck. On one hand I like it due to its floral hopping. On the other hand it's a somewhat insipid thin beer. Shizobrew. Cheers. Pours with a white head and no lace. Bit overcarbonated. Also a bit thin. Floral qualities are less than they used to be; a shame. Used to remind me of Bohemia, which, in turn, is also lamer than it used to be. Forgetable. (353 characters)

Appearance – Yellow body; actually kind of cloudy for a Mexican ale. There was also a small head which, of course, dissipated quickly.

Smell – Very grainy with a whiff of floral hops.

Taste – More grainy malt on the taste buds, with a little hop again to add minimal dimension. There’s a skunk in there dying to get out, but he thankfully stayed put for this offering.

Mouthfeel – This is where Pacifico jumps ahead of other Mexican beers. The carbonation is real, not the fake soda pop variety you find sometimes in other, less refined piss beers. It makes this one refreshing.

Drinkability – IMHO, just what a Mexican beer should be. Lots of water, a nice mouthfeel, and enough taste to pass for cervesa. I served this one up muy frio – half hour in the freezer – made sure I was hot and tired from lots of yard work, and guzzled it after the tasting drinks. (880 characters)

Pale yellow with a fizzy white head that disappears like that of soda. Has that distinct aroma of pungent old adjunct malt, although it's pretty faint. Flavor is corny and grainy, with a finish like tap water. Extremely drinkable, but why would you want any more? (263 characters)
