This Mexican offering pours a pale yellow with a white-bubble head. The smell is of grains and a bit o' skunkiness. Nothing to write home about. Lacing is decent down the side of my glass, though.

The flavor is that of corn and a hint of malt/sweetness. There is very little body to this drink. The mouthfeel is thin and watery. The finish is dry. There is a faint flavor of hops. A weird grainy flavor barely lingers on after the beer has left the mouth.

Not a great beer, at best a rather ordinary one. Served ice cold, it probably is okay to chase down some spicy beans and rice with this lager.

12 oz bottle. Poured a typical straw yellow, with lots of fizz but little head retention. No visible lacing to be seen. Aroma is light, with a slight hint of malt. Taste is rather weak and bland. Watery mouthfeel, with not much flavor. Tastes like any other macro. Not worth trying again.

Pale golden yellow color with a thinish head of large bubbles and not much in the stanima department. No lace. Aroma has a bit of corn husk and a merging into hay-in-the-field hops, but this "argicultural" theme is very restrained. This bottle was not skunky. As much as the aroma and appearance are of little note, they are the most distinctive features of the beer. Sweet start, very little at the close, medium carbonation. Pretty close to tasteless, not offensive, but below many macros in impression.

pours out a clear and bright yellow golden colour. thin foamy head that dissipates quickly. a non-existant aroma...maybe a hint of corn and grassy hops. taste is virtually not there either. is this beer?? battles corona for most tasteless mexican brew. clean and smooth and with hardly a hint of any real aftertaste. might score a bit higher for drinkability for easy poundability without even realizing you might drinking beer. either that or it would make for a good tequila chaser or a cool liquid to wash down spicy mexican food. otherwise not much to write about. a pretty lame "beer".

Another Mexican beer produced by those Modelo folks (the Corona people). There's nothing exotic once you get inside the bottle as this is simply another fizzy yellow beer. You can save yourself a lot of money buying a American equivalent. I didn't mind paying what I paid because I wanted to review this, but there is no way I would shell out the money to make this my regular fall-back beer.

Pacifico Clara pours a rather nice golden color with lots of active carbonation (fizz bubbles were all over the place). A thin, soapy white head forms and I'd be generous in saying that it lasted 5 seconds. The smell is light and grainy with some slight malt and to a lesser extent some mustiness and corn. Mouthfeel is quite fizzy and watery. The flavor itself is quite unimpressive and watery as well. Some grainiess present, light malt, and some corn. Throw in some dry cardboard taste as well (somewhat reminds me of Rheingold's flavor to an extent). There is some grassiness and hay-like qualities too. The moderate-to-low hop bitterness adds a bit of a drying effect to the finish. The aftertate is nothing to write home about: almost nothing there save for some slight corn. And as expected, no alcoholic warmth as to be experienced either.

All in all, a very average beer. Better than Corona for sure, and the brown bottles were probably a life-saver for this beer (this stuff would probably be rancid if skunked). If served very cold, this could be very refreshing on a hot day. I didn't need any limes to cover up the flavor, so that must be a plus. There are a lot better beers out there that are less expensive as well.

Bueno Cinco deMayo! Ole! Tacos! This is one of the better Mexican "clone" lagers (they all taste alike). Clara (Clear). Flat pale gold in color with a very white head and thin veil of lace. Wet corncob, herbal malt and faint hop aroma. The light malt is fairly grainy and classically Mexican in body. The hops are bare distinguishable from the dry seltzery effervescence. Fairly balanced and dry. Did I say dry? Smooth even mouth feel with the essence of tequila. Not bad for a hot sunny day.

Pretty standard Mexican pale lager.
Pours a dark yellow, clear with a thin white head.
Smell is unremarkable, beery, but not bad.
It tastes better than you'd expect. I liked this one more than Corona, but not as much as Modelo Dark.
Good drinkable beer for Mexican / Tex-Mex parties.

This beer poured a pale orange/yellow. Slightly darker than your average american macro or other corono esque mexican brew, but still very light.
The full white head took it's time to die completly down. No where near some bottle conditioned beers, but it didn't just disapear like I'd expected.
The nose didn't offer much. Mostly some skunk flavors, your typical german influenced mexican pilsner.
The taste was average. Smooth, easy to drink mexican pilsner. Not a lot, if any malt flavors. This beer surprised me a bit with the amount of hops and bitterness I could detect. It almost tasted like it was dry hopped with a very very low alpha acid hop. But the hop charector was very mellow.

I have issues giving this beer a bad review. For the style, it's probably one of the best. I drank it out of a snifter and savored what there were of flavors. Which may not have been the best way to review this beer. Much like fine belgian beers that have their own dedicated glass and way of being drunk, this beer was meant to have a lime stuck in it and drunk straight out of the bottle. Preferably while chillin' on a beach in Mexico.

This beer poured a very, VERY pale yellow. The head was robust and stayed on the glass in a nice lace. The beer was very clear. The smell well there was none. I had to give them a couple points for not having an off smell. The taste was very light and no hops. The mouthfeel was also light. I had this beer at a Mexican restaurant. It went with my dinner better than a Coke. It provided liquid to go along with the meal.

Before I review this beer, I noticed something strange about all of the bottles in this sixer. They all look like “low-fills” but they are all dead even on the level. Hmmm. Chinchy or what? Pours a clear pale color with a modest white soda-like head that disappeared rapidly while making a fizzy noise. The smell consists of light corn, an earthy grain, and a light sweetness. Not too enticing! The flavor mimics the aromas with a light carb bite to boot. This beer should be considered a light lager with its watery mouthfeel. Not a good beer at all although it’s blandness makes for a slightly better than average drinker. Salud!

12 oz. brown bottle. this was labeled as "Pacifico Clara". I'm assuming it's the same beer being reviewed here.

appearance: pale pale pale gold with chintzy head that dissipated quickly. smell: just bad metallic odor. taste: i had this in a mexican restaurant with really good food and the beer just ruined it. too grainy and metallic-tasting.. no different from american macro beers when it comes to tase. mouthfeel: not much to say here. drinkability: low because the tase was so bad. ruined my meal. next time get negra modelo or sangria.

Pours a light to medium bright golden color with a foamy white head that quickly dissipates leaving only a faint trace of lace. Nose is sweet grains with some sulfur notes. Taste is sweet malts and a grainy husk flavor. Only a small amount of hop bitterness is present in the finish which is crisp and dry. Very light and refreshing. Not a great beer by any stretch of the imagination, but it does seem to go well with the chips and salsa I’m snacking on right now.

Not too bad, but not too good either. I tried it one day and it was "ho-hum". Very light, just like most other Mexican brews that are mainstream on the market, ie Corona. Not much of a taste, mostly of water with a smidge of hops. The only head I got was from the carbonation. Salud!

Pours a pale yellow with a white head, tastes like a light lager with a pinch of skunk. A mexican light flavored lager, with little flavor beyond the mild skunkiness. I would not recommend this stuff unless it is free.

I have to say that as far as Mexicans beers go, this is probably one of the better ones. I have yet to rate Dos XX but this is definitely a better tasting beer than Corona. Crisp taste, straw color, virtually no head to mention...goes down well on a hot day. I would recommend it over any of the popular "swilling" macrobrews (Bud, Miller, etc.).

I’m not sure why I torture my taste buds with this kind of beer, knowing I don’t like them, but here it goes anyway.

Beer pours a translucent bright gold and the head modest in size, brilliantly white with the lace thin sheets clinging to the glass. Malt nose, crisp and clean, front is malt, the top cadaverous, finish astringent, hops AWOL, dry aftertaste, drinkable, but leaves me “Lost In Space”, Danger Will Robinson, contagion in a bottle.

Clear, pale gold, small foamy head, disappeared in a heartbeat. The nose was rather clean, some sweetness, some cooked veggies, and some grassy-cream at the end. The flavors are simple, if not boring, with mainly a light peppery-sweetness and some citrus and hops bringing up the rear. This is not a bad beer; I bet it works okay with spicy Mexican food.

This is not a beer I’d go out of my way to drink again.

This brew is a step above a Corona. Pours a very light straw with very little head that leaves no lace. Your average american lager style brew with that hint of mexican skunk piss. Not a bad brew but mexican beers are not my cup of tea. A friend thought he was being nice by bringing me over a sixer of it.

One of my first ventures into the Mexican beer world. Corona doesn't count. I found it to be a pretty good and drinkable beer. I drink it straight from the bottle with the lime jammed into it. Doesn't compare to our good micros, but on a hot day, I would think about geting it again. Maybe

Pacifico Clara pours a standard amber from a 12oz brown bottle. Head goes to about one finger, then goes... completely.

Nose is unremarkable and palate would also be unremarkable save for the carbonation.

I've had club soda that had more of everything except for the alcohol. No untoward flavors or skunk, but on the other hand skunk would not be such a bad thing in this case, just about any flavor would be a welcomed change.

Appearance: Pale golden in color with a modest, fizzy off-white head, lots of carbonation.

Aroma: Slight malt and cooked vegetable aroma.

Taste: Taste begins with modest maltiness, gives way to washed out metallic hops, Finishes with a long, lingering metallic bitterness.

Mouth feel: Thin, carbonation adds a bit of sting.

Drinkability/note: The finish is crisp and dry. This beer is better than Corona, but so what? A mediocre choice.

Presentation: Packaged in a twelve-ounce brown glass long-neck bottle with a pry-off crown, served in a New Belgium Brewing chalice.

Like an American macrobrew, the lack of protein from the excessive use of corn and/or rice as adjuncts prevents any head retention. A touch of dimethyl sulfide (cooked cabbage) in aroma, w/ just a hint of malt sweetness. Hop nose is absent. There's a bit more going on in flavor when compared to Budmillercoors-- hop bitterness is above the norm, and cooked corn and residual malt sweetness is thus thankfully masked. Not quite as thin in body as a typical macrobrew, but quite light nonetheless. Finishes dry and bland. Pacifico is a notch above the typical domestic lager, but that's not saying much.

I had 2 cold bottles at my buddies house (he's cuban) he loves the stuff and I agreed to give it a try. Nice pour golden straw color, clear as can be. Nice head, nothing to note aroma wise. Tasted decent enough, not much, but a decent lager. Some balance, but mostly, watery and some malt.I thought it was much better than any Corona I have had. I would order this at a Mexican restaurant over a bud, miller, etc. (Ed's note: I hour later, serious bad belches, and heartburn. Wow !)
