12 oz. Brown Bottle. Yellow Label.
A: Pours a clear light amber. A medium fizzy head dies within seconds. Very little lacing
or head retention.
S: Malts. grains. corn. cereal. A faint floral hop aroma is present.
T/M: Sweet malts and grain heavy. Hop bitterness is lacking in muscle. Cereal and corn
grains. Light bodied. Fizzy. The finish is a little dry with a malty taste that lingers.
O: This lager is pretty poor. Very little taste. I've had much better lagers form Mexico.
Does have an okay mouthfeel. Best to drink this beer on a hot day.
Cheers!

Bottle purchased at Rio Tomatlan in Canandaigua, NY.
This one pours a light amber-ish color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells lightly and vaguely sweet, with some graininess and grassiness.
This is mostly inoffensive, but also fairly tasteless. It doesn’t have quite the high quality of Modelo Especial, or Negra Modelo. It’s grainy, grass, semi sweet, but crisp with a smooth bite on the finish.
This is light bodied, crisp, clean, and pretty drinkable.
This paired well with excellent Mexican food but didn’t do much on its own.

One of my favorite Mexican beers. It has a crisp hop forward taste and light feel just like a lager should.

12oz bottle. Neck is stamped with the date of 'BB FEB 2024'.
Clear, pale amber colored body. Two finger of white head quickly retreats to an active surface and bubbly ring.
Aroma of sweet grain malts and slight fruitiness and a touch of toffee.
Taste is sweet and bready, with lots of toasted malts and the light touch of green apple fruit. Aftertaste ends quickly.
Medium mouth feel. Very slight tongue bite. Light fizziness.
Slightly darker Mexican brewed beer, with a good representation of toasted malts that get close to toffee. No sulfur.

Grading this as a Vienna, see the score given. As a sessionable AAL with 4%, it’s pretty awesome and would score higher.

Look: Clear amber-copper in color with a frothy white head that rapidly swells and slowly settles to a pillow, leaving good lacing behind
Aroma: Freshly baked bread, lightly toasted bread and crust, wafts of floral hops, and light toffee
Taste: Oven baked bread kicks it off as waves of toasted bread roll in behind and pile into the mix. A little toffee rounds out the initial hit as light floral hop notes are ever-present throughout and closes with more bready malt and light toffee
Mouthfeel: Light but full, clean, medium-high carbonation, and clean and crisp on the finish
Overall: I dig it. As probably my favorite Mexican cerveza, I had to finally review good ol’ Vicky as it stands apart from most given that it’s a Vienna lager – which is a style I love. The richer malt profile stands out and sets it apart from lighter offerings, plus no unpleasant aromas/tastes to boot. A go-to of mine several times a year, especialmente cuando preparando o comiendo la comida Mexicana. Salud!
