Appearance - This was a nice, clear brown color with an off-white head that showed little retention.
Smell - The toasted grain is very light at the nose and there's nothing else here to offend.
Taste - The grain has a nice, rich malty character if a bit on the stale side.
Mouthfeel - This is light-bodied with a smooth feel in the cheeks and some delicate carbonation.
Drinkability - This one won't knock your socks off but is good enough to session.

This is supposed to be a Munich style beer. Maybe so, but I doubt it. Still, it was one of the more enjoyable beers I had on a recent trip to Mexico. It was amber in color with a small head. It had a malty, sweet aroma. A caramel taste with some warmth to it. I thought it had a little substance, and would drink it again.

A: Nice amber color, with a one finger head that quickly dissipates to a small ring of bubbles.
S: A nice malty aroma, no discernible hop presence.
T: The taste is also dominated by malt but there is also a slight kick from hops. Leaves a caramel finish.
M/D: Thin bodied with lots of carbonation. A better option than most of the more popular Mexican beers widely available.

Not a bad mexican beer, but I really have trouble distinguishing this from Modelo's Victoria, a supposed Vienna lager. Whatever, it's not bad and you can drink it on the beach. Overall a so-so lager. The flavor had its ups and downs with a licorice and light dry cocoa flavor. Worth seeking out if in Mexico, otherwise don't bother.

Pours an ivory head settling over clear medium amber liquid. Sweet malty nose with a hint of caramel. Malty sweetness carries thru on the palate, sort of in the Vienna or Marzen style...sweet, with a light toasted background. Finishes subtly bittersweet as it warms up. Not the worst Mex beer I've drank.

León pours a dark and clear reddish brown in color, with a thin off-white head. A clear and viscous beer, it reminded me a bit of thin maple syrup, especially after the head headed for the hills.
Sweet caramely malts on the nose and on the tongue. Taste is a bit soda like, a light cream soda, with a thin carbonation letting off too quickly thus exposing the sweetness even more. Rather full in body as a result yielding a decent feel but not helping the drinkability too much.
Overly rich and underly complex compared to a Negra Modelo for example.

Poured from a brown 12 ounce bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: Unhazed and dark orange/brown. There was a small head on the beer but it was gone in a flash.
Smell: Skunky with some sweet darker malts.
Taste: Little bit of skunk. Bitter finish. Easily drinkable. Good alternative to Corona if you're ever in Mexico.

Drank in an Argentinian restaurant in Mexico City.
Pours bronze with a small light-brown head. Light carbonation rising.
Aroma of malts, light hops, light adjuncts.
Taste is of sweet malts and adjuncts. Not too much there.
Mouthfeel is light, cleansing and dry.
Overall, very drinkable, sessionable, refreshing. Not a great beer, but decent for the right setting/occasion.

Purchased and consumed at a bar outside the Tulum ruins.
Appears a transparent light amber with a small, off white head that quickly fades out into a mild cap. Mild spots of lacing are left around the glass.
Smell is of American 2-row, Crystal, & a touch of Munich and a hint of Chocolate malt. Pretty clean with a faint hint of hops buried in the background.
Taste is of the mentioned aromas with a sweet caramel flavor dominating the flavors.
Mouthfeel is light-medium bodied, smooth, gently spiced with hops, and easy drinking.

My sister brought this back for me from her trip to Mexico a couple of weeks ago.
Poured from a 325ml. bottle.
Appearance: Reddish-amber body that's a bit (too?) clear with a decent 2 finger head that recedes to a thin layer then to nothing rather quickly.
Smell: Best feature for me. Malt & mild bitterness (hops?) with a underlying coffee presence, not sure.
Taste: Wow, not much here. Some malt, maybe some caramel but extremely subdued. Taste is fleeting. A bit grainy but i'm grasping at straws here due to the lack of flavor. Slight bitterness in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Texture is, for lack of a better word, rubbery. Crisp & clean and finishes like water. Kind of flat also.
Drinkability: Not very interesting. Easy & inoffensive really but i feel like i'm drinking alcoholic water with a smidgen of taste.
Overall: Bland and unexciting. It doesn't taste skunked, maybe a bit stale but not sure as the smell was fairly good compared to the rest. Maybe best enjoyed under a tropical sun.

Look: Dark brown color, bare head of foam with white burrs; Smell: Grain, roasted malt and toffee; Taste: Roasted malt, toffee, balanced with resiny hops; Mouthfeel: Refreshing, medium bitterness, high carbonation and medium body; Drinkability: Acceptable in all respects, the junior version of Negra Modelo, but the presentation is very bad.

can, 355 ml.
It poured a light amber colour with head that disappeared straight away.
Nothing special on the aroma, almost non existent.
Taste, the same. Nothing traceable, nothing distinguishable.
Medium on the body and light carbonation.
This one is like your usual mexican beer with some drops of a colour agent, just to change its colour, nothing else. Really disappointed with this one, I was expecting much more taste.

Reviewed from notes - had this beer while on vacation in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Poured from a 12 oz can into a glass.
Appearance - Light brown - the first (and only) beer that I found in Puerto Vallarta that wasn't yellow! There's a very small head that dissipates into nothing shortly after the beer is poured.
Smell - There's a bit of malt and maybe a faint smell of toasted grains but that's about it.
Taste - While this beer has more oomph than the other beers I had in Mexico, it's quite tame. There's a slight malt character that comes across throughout each sip, but not much else.
Mouthfeel - Just like water.
Overall - This might be one of the best beers available if you're in Mexico. Visit for the cheap tequila, not the brew.
