Stout lovers rejoice, because Sir Duluth is the rarest of breeds: a true four-season stout. It delivers all of the coffee and chocolate complexity you'd expect from the style without the creamy ballast of its Irish cousins. Still black and velvety smooth, the brew finishes on a toasty note that nearly cleanses the palate like an English biscuit – making it as fit for a sunny lakeside patio as it is for a ski lodge hearthside. Named for the French explorer (and Duluth namesake) Daniel Greysolon Sier du Lhut, it won a Gold Medal at the 2002 World Beer Championships.

A - Poured out a dark black color with almost no head. Also, no lacing to speak of.
S - It smelled oaky and earthy with a roasted maltiness.
T - The oatmeal flavor was quite apparent. Also, some bittersweet roasted malt.
M - It was soft and smooth. A light to medium-bodied beer.
D - This is a descent oatmeal stout.

Lake Superior Brewing Sir Duluth Oatmeal Stout, 5.8% ABV. Pours black with a slight ring of white bubbles. Not much nose, taste is salty, perhaps a bit citrus, not much bitterness. Decent mouthfeel, overall good.

Tried this after a bad batch of Sam Smith's Oatmeal Stout.
Nothing spectacular, hints of coffee and chocolate, but not bad either. Would also be a good liquid for a roast!

This beer pours a deep black with a small head. The aroma is deeply roasty, with hints of coffee, cream, brown sugar, and dark chocolate. The flavor starts with dark chocolate, and moves to roast walnuts, mild coffee, and a roasty finish. The mouthfeel is fairly light, with foamy carbonation and a good finish. Overall this is a classic and simple oatmeal stout. It lacks the sumptuousness of more modern examples, but is the more sessionable for it.

Pours a clear, dark brown color. 1/3 inch head of an off-tan color. Great retention and good lacing. Smells of roasted malt, sweet malt, hint of oatmeal, hint of yeast, hops, and slight earthiness. Fits the style of an Oatmeal Stout. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of roasted malt, sweet malt, hint of oatmeal, slight biscuit, slight alcohol, hops, and slight earthiness. Overall, good blend, body, and appearance, but too sharp in feel.

Sir Duluth Oatmeal Stout pours an almost completely black color with a huge bubbly tan head. Smokey and creamy malty aroma. Taste is a bit sweet, creamy with a slightly smokey finish. Good body and feel. Overall a solid oatmeal stout.
