Appearance - Pours Near black with cola brown edging and with a light tan 2 finger head. Retention is good, resulting in a lace that's thin and semi-sticky.

Smell - Smells like your typical oatmeal stout; roasted malts with chocolate, coffee and oat character.

Taste - Disappoints. Very light, almost watery flavor profile. Hints of roasted coffee. A faint touch of chocolate. Oats peek through near the finish, along with a faint bit of alcohol.

Mouthfeel - Where's the body? Near watery and with barely a modicum of carbonation.

Overall - Sweet mother does this not hit the spot. It's like someone took a good oatmeal stout and cut it with half water. What were they thinking? I got excited by the smell, then was completely let down after the first sip. I'll never buy this again.

Pours a black color. One inch head of a tan color. Great retention and good lacing. Smells of slight roasted malt, sweet malt, hint of oatmeal, and a hint of citrus hops. Fits the style of an Oatmeal Stout. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, oatmeal, slight roasted malt, slight hops, and a hint of pale malt. Overall, decent appearance, aroma, body, and blend. No one aspect of the beer is 'great', but still an easy-drinking beer.

A - Pours a very dark brown, though some red is apparent when held up to the light, with two fingers of tan head. Head quickly settles to a thin but persistent cap and leaves god lacing.

S - Coffee and some roasted malt. a faint sweetness. Didn't get much else, but not bad.

T - Taste is roasted malt with a bit of silky oat. Coffee and som faint chocolate.

M - Very light mouthfeel with lots of carbonation. Doesn't really feel like a stout.

O - Nothing too interesting here. Too watery, which reduces the enjoyment quite a bit.

Poured into a pint glass at 47 degrees. I have been wanting to try this beer, I finally found it.

Appearance: A half finger head that has fair retention; furthermore, the head is creamy and foamy. The color of the head is medium tan color and a few laces cling to the glass. The color of the beer is dark mahogany with a dark reddish hue. The clarity of the beer is opaque. A few carbonation bubble are visible on the side of the glass. The beer looks great, would have like to seen a more resilient head.

Nose: A very rich roasted malt profile with some burnt, toasty, and caramel notes. A subtle note of floral esters, wood and oatmeal. Other minor aromas chocolate and molasses like note. The smell of the beer is wonderful

Taste: A very rich roast on the malts giving off burnt, toasty, and light caramel note. Other flavors are floral esters, wood, oatmeal, chocolate, coffee, and a hint of sweetness (molasses like).

The mouth feel of the beer is coating, carbonated, and slightly astringent.

Overall: The body of the beer is medium thick and the finish is medium. This is a very roasty toasty brew good flavors. The only complaint I see is there needs to be more oatmeal. Most Oatmeal beer that I drink are a bit more complex, tad creamy and smoother. Good beer nonetheless.
