Appearance: Clear mahogany body with garnet highlights. Creamy but transient off-white head leaves sheets of lace on the glass.
Smell: Very subtle nose is mostly sweet malt. Some roasty toasty highlights and just a whiff of banana/butter.
Taste: Sweet malt to start. Thin body and smokey/nutty notes at the top. Subtle hops dry this drool to a semi-dry finish with a lingering bitter, campfire aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Surprisingly watery. Carbonation is fine and of medium volume.
Drinkability: Quite drinkable. Great name, somewhat forgettable taste.
Serving type: on-tap

Definitely close to a brown ale but could almost be something else. While the color is very dark, it has some amber hues to it. Very malty yet still noticeably hoppy. The chocolate and malty notes are very obvious but seem to be distracted by the Willamette hops which cause a somewhat watery mouthfeel. The smell is very malty but again dispersed by the hops which are not expected by a brown ale.
