Notes & Commercial Description:
Beer added by: kbub6f on 12-16-2001

It's chocolate brown in color with a creamy texture. A malty beer with just enough hop presence to keep it from being too sweet. The aroma mostly comes from the malt with a hint of spice added by the hops. Moose Drool is brewed with pale, caramel, chocolate, and whole black malts; and Kent Goldings, Liberty, and Willamette hops.

A tasty English Brown. Would definitely recommend it. Slight smokiness that really makes it shine.

Very weak pour with little head and no lacing. Decently sweet, malty aroma, Flavor has a respectable balance between toasty malts and hoppy bitterness.

Ultra dark brown beer with a nice tan head....large bubbled. The smell is malty, some roasty notes, and no real fruit. Taste has a melanoid flavor..lots of converted sugars and roasty flavors. Some malt. Bitter balance, but the hops ar not a real factor in the taste. Full in body. Mall idly good.

Pours light brown with a small head.
Nose shows sweet bready malt along with toasty and nutty notes.
Similar flavours, sweet bready malt, some light toasty characters.

A - Brown, dark, with a rusty shade, slightly opaque but mostly transparent. Short tan head, quick to fade to a thin cap. Minor lacing.

S - Malt, mild roasted notes suggest caramel and wheat toast.

T - Follows the nose, but adds a mid-point of spice and earthy hop elements. The close is still sweet, but only mildly so.

M - Brisk, with just a touch of drying on the end.

O - A decent, but not exceptional, beer. Tastes good, drinks well. Just not the most robust or nuanced brown I've enjoyed.

Great taste, right up there with Black Butte Porter. Not too heavy, good for multiple draws!

Pours a nice brown with a slight red tint. One finger creamy head.
S- malty, aggressive chocolate smell.
T- tasty. Great balance with mostly roasted nut maly taste with very light chocolate taste. A nearly undetectable hop finish. Not a real busy taste.
F- good enough to drink several of these.
O- I was kind of disappointed. Not a very complexed beer, however I haven't had many good browns.
