American Brown Ale |  5.10% ABV

Availability: Year-round

Notes/Commercial Description:
It's chocolate brown in color with a creamy texture. A malty beer with just enough hop presence to keep it from being too sweet. The aroma mostly comes from the malt with a hint of spice added by the hops. Moose Drool is brewed with pale, caramel, chocolate, and whole black malts; and Kent Goldings, Liberty, and Willamette hops.

Pours a translucent chestnut color with a modest head of khaki foam that disappears in short order. Mild aroma smells of caramel and grassy hops with a slight nutty character as well.

The nuttiness is more pronounced in the taste, which also includes a big kick of grain husk toward the middle and end. Grassy hops lend balance but overstay their welcome in the finish. Traces of milk chocolate manifest with a little warming. Light body and crisp carbonation create a semi-creamy mouthfeel that comes off a bit thin for my liking.

Overall, this is a straightforward and drinkable brown ale, albeit lacking in nuance and complexity. I’m hardly a brown ale connoisseur though, so take this review with a grain of salt.

Dark brown , smells malty with roasted nut . Coffee taste , maybe a little chocolate. Not as rich as a stout though. Very tasty
