Notes & Commercial Description:
Beer added by: kbub6f on 12-16-2001

It's chocolate brown in color with a creamy texture. A malty beer with just enough hop presence to keep it from being too sweet. The aroma mostly comes from the malt with a hint of spice added by the hops. Moose Drool is brewed with pale, caramel, chocolate, and whole black malts; and Kent Goldings, Liberty, and Willamette hops.

Dark Ice Tea colored body with a creamy small head. Retention was horrible but left a decent umbrella of lacing, and a thin milky layer of head.

S- Roasted nuts; Walnuts, peanuts and pecans. Caramel and brown sugar. Has a lot of darker, warming flavours.

T & M - Follows closely behind the smell, with a kick of caramel in the backbone. Also, dried plums make their entrance after the beer warms up and adds a nice finish. The smooth, creamy feel makes it easy to drink and may even be my next desert. Medium bodied with a minimul presence of carbonation.
Overall its nice ABA. Not many can brew this and give it a balanced taste, but Moose Drool is decent, to say the least.

Really stoked Beermasons brought this back to Oz.

Toffee-amber pour, chocolate brown with ruby red highlights when held against the light. Beige head of a sturdy two fingers falls to a centimetre raised curtain.

Well rounded aromas of rum-and-raisin chocolate, dark toffee, roasted nuts and other assorted slightly fortified dark fruits. Occasional candy sugar high notes. Very nice nose.

Somewhat lighter, with less of the rich, brandied malt character in the nose. Which is in line with the modest ABV. Lots of stewed plums, some nutmeg and a coffee-like grainy roast creeps in.

Very even palate. Lightish body is well supported by jazzy carbonation, preventing it from feeling thin.

Great session beer that I could put away all night. Like everything I've had from Big Sky, this epitomises prudent brewing. Nothing grates or feels overdone.
