Appearance: Big Sky IPA pours a medium copper color with a full 2 fingers of light caramel head. Takes a while to reduce, leaving some decent lacing. Very nice look to it.
Smell: Some caramel malts, grapefruit, and quite a bit of floral hoppiness.
Taste: I get quite a bit of maltiness up front. Some grapefruit as well, and all of the hoppiness is floral. It seems there is some very different opinions of this beer in terms of balance. I find it reasonably well balanced, but I like my IPAs to clearly lean towards hops.
Mouthfeel/Drinkability: Mouthfeel is pretty nice, a bit on the light side with decent carbonation. Overall, this is a very drinkable beer that is nicely balanced. At 6.2% alcohol it even seems sessionable.
