Poured into a pint glass from a 12 oz bottle in Whitefish, MT.
A is a wonderful orange sunset color with a honey warmth. The beer is clear with a two finger head that faded a bit more quickly than I wanted.
S is a pleasant mix of malt and sweet hoppy notes. Certainly a British bite to the aroma. Certainly sweet and wonderfully hopped.
T- Yum, yum. Packing a nice pleasant bitterness and fading into a well balanced beer. The hint of caramel is great.
M - Nicely carbonated and light. Goes down smoothly.
O - Get a sixer. A memorable, exceptional pale ale that deserves attention.

Thanks to the random guy who put out a bunch of these bottles at Darkness Day with a 'free' sign on them. Free beer? Why yes, thank you. 12 oz. bottle shared with the wifey.

Pour is pure orange M&M, clear, filtered. Nose arrives sweetly floral, clover-field mix. Nice break from the regular pale crowd.

Super Goat is exactly as advertised. Pale malts married to a sharp hop bite. Citrus & what make cameos. The combo is pleasant & the strength of the brew is the ease with which it slips down the throat & into the nether regions.

A basic pale that's had a bit of mojo added to the juice with the extra dry-hopping. Good, solid brew.

On tap at the Iron Horse in Missoula. This is an unfiltered, dry-hopped version of Scape Goat. Instead of East Kent Goldings, they use some varietal of domestic hop grown somewhere nearby. I missed out on this at the taproom and was pleasantly surprised that it was on tap at the Iron Horse.

This pours much like Scape Goat, amber-gold with a thin head and a bit of lace. Since this is unfiltered, I was expecting it to look a big nastier than Scape Goat, but it was pretty much just as clean. On the nose, the change in hops and technique become apparent. There is a much bigger floral bouquet here, though it's still not huge, and it dominates a bit over the bready malt characteristics of the normal version. The malt character is more caramel than bread here. I'm not sure if that's just due to a balance change or what. In the mouth, those hops come out quite a bit more, the citric nature balancing well with the biggish caramel note. There is a bit of a disconnect between the bitterness and the sweetness, like there is something missing in between, but that doesn't knock it too badly for me. The finish is much longer than Scape Goat, with a good combination of carbonation and bitterness buzz.

Overall, this is a good beer, a step up over Scape Goat in my mind. Can this!
