Poured from bottle to an imperial pint. Best by 06/19/2013.

A: Cloudy and straw in color with golden hues. Thick, foamy, slightly lemon head. Active carbonation.

S: Wheat, bubble gum, coriander, pepper. Slight scent of earthy hops.

T: Wheat, lemon peel, grapefruit, coriander, white pepper, earthy hops.

M: Light-bodied but slightly creamy, with a slightly bitter and dry finish. Very easy drinking.

O: Not a bad beer at all. Pleasant to look at and solid all around, but pretty basic and doesn't delve into the depth possible in this style. Almost more like a spiced wheat beer than a true saison.

Apperance- The beer pousrs a hazy orange Amber color with a one finger head of white foam. The head fades very fast to leave a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell-The The aroma is heaviest of a spice smell with lots of corriande, clove, and a bunch of yeast. Along with these smells comes some grainy and herbal aromas.
Taste- The taste begins big, with a drier taste of cracker and wheat as well as some tastes of wheat. There are tastes of corriander and clove which grow stronger as the taste advances and are joined by some yeasty and herbal flavors as well. The yeast and the herb grow stronger and stronger and with some grass and hay, as well as the rest of the flavors, one is left with a somewhat drier, grainy, and more dankly hopped, saison taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel- The body of the brew is moderate in thickness with a carbonation level that is normal. A little more carbonation may have been slightly better for the drier and yeasty saison flavors, but all in all, the feel was pretty good.
Overall-. A rather decent drier saison with a bit of a dank happiness. Not bad.

This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a burnt light copper color with a finger’s worth of off white foamy head that clung and glistened a little bit before gently dieing off to leave some sly messy lace. The aroma had some sweet grains, light floral bits, dried bubblegum, dried herbal qualities and some hay. The flavor had a dried sweetness about it through the prior mentioned aromas. Subtle dried flroal/herbal/hay aftertaste and finish. The palate was between light and medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt as projected. Overall, with so many saisons on the market these days, I don’t see a need to come back to this other than being grateful to my West coast friend for sending this to me.

Poured from the bottle into a glass.

Murky dandelion yellow hue.

Frothy bright white head head; spotty lace.

Banana & clove nose; hint of citrus.

Medium mouthfeel.

The taste is surprisingly malt forward; banana & clove take a backseat but are present. Not too flavorful but definitely sessionable.

Appearance: 2" fluffy white head recedes slowly with moderate lacing. Significant carbonation present. Deep golden color and somewhat cloudy, but less than is common with saisons.
Aroma: clove, banana, warm bread dough, earthy hops.
Mouthfeel: mostly light, fairly crisp, somewhat dry finish.
Flavor: Hops are more forward than expected and mask the sweeter malt flavors (clove, banana, caramel) somewhat.
Overall: very fine, but not great.

A: Pours a hazy golden with a white head.

N: Nose is fairly typical of a saison. Notes of wheat, orange peel, coriander, cardamom, nutmeg, a tiny bit of Belgian yeast funk, and some fruity Belgian yeast esters.

T: Taste is pretty much the same, cardamom, nutmeg, fruity Belgian yeast esters, funky Belgian yeast, wheat and orange peel.

M: Medium bodied, and smooth for the style.

O: Recommended. This is a solid example of the style. Definitely worth a try, as is anything from this brewery.
