A - Somewhat hazy bright amber color with orange hightlight. Head is a solid 1/3 inch that settles to a mild lace ring.
S - Smell is rather bready, mild grainy hops, and a sort of brown sugar pure black cherry juice thing going on.
T - Well I reached for a fruit beer and got a good one! Sweet ripe black cherries meets a mild sweet malts and a somewhat muted hop edge so guess what it taste more like fruit than beer. Not too overly sweet or tart just fruity.
M - Light to medium easy to chug even right out of the bottle.

Overall they really made quite a good fruit beer maybe too fruity but its far from watery and has enough hop balance for it to be a beer. I would get it again.

12 ounce bottle. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a slightly hazy amber color with about an inch and a half off-white head. Head retention is good, and there's a decent amount of lacing. The brew smells like black cherries and bready/grainy malt. I think the taste is just like the aroma, full of bready/grainy malt and sweet cherries. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's a bit slick and surprisingly creamy. It has good, soft carbonation which helps make this brew easy to drink. I think it's a solid beer overall, I certainly wouldn't turn one down! $1.79 a single.

Mystery beer at Green Dot Stables in Detroit, Michigan. Figured I'd give it a try... never heard of the beer or brewery before.

Well... I'm surprised this beer is classified as a cream ale. What? It's the very definition of a fruit beer. The black cherry is on the front and back and everywhere in between. It's in the smell, and it's all around. The aftertaste is somewhat tart and pretty sweet, with a malt body that reminds you that this is a beer and not some sort of a wine cooler. Make no qualms about it, this is a fruit beer. It's not a beer with fruit juice added, it tastes like fruit juice with beer added ... take that as you will. It's not an awful beer, but one was enough for me, and I doubt I could ever have more than two in a session. The dominance of the cherry makes this a super "girly beer". Some malt, lots of tart and sweet cherries. It's not bad by any means, but it's far from great.

Pouring to a light tan/orange hue, this beer has little foam, moderate carbonation, and a nose that is rather faint, with scents of wheat, grain, and a small amount of fruit. There is little or no lacing and the body of the beer is completely clear.

Taking a taste of this beer, I can detect a little bit of dark fruit, some apple, a touch of honey, and some lightly toasted malt and biscuits. There isn’t much hop character and the beer finishes light and clean. The fruit taste is a little sweeter than tart overall.

This beer is made with natural black cherry flavor but I find the cherry qualities a little more subdued than expected. I have tried other cherry beers and, from the very first sip, it is obvious that the beer in front of you is a cherry brew. With this one, not so much. You can taste some fruit, but it is a little more subtle than others and I can see how some may mistake the cherry for different fruits.

Fruit beers are sometimes difficult to get right. With this beer, the flavors seem a tad off. It’s an acceptable beer, but not one I would seek out in the future.

A: Pours a mostly clear (with just the slightest hint of haziness) dark honey to apricot in color with moderate amounts of fine carbonation and some dark golden yellow highlights. The beer has a finger tall fizzy off-white head that reduces to a large patch of very thin film and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of black cherries over the top of light to moderate aromas of cereal grain malts.

T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of cereal grain malts with light to moderate flavors of black cherries. Lightly sweet with mostly natural fruit flavors.

M: Light to medium bodied with heavy amounts of carbonation. Creamy.

O: I found this beer to be pretty easy to drink and enjoyable - especially on a steamy hot early summer afternoon. Overall the aromas and flavors are light enough and blend well in the cream ale style. Refreshing.
