Your basic hole-in-the-wall bar. I'm sure at one point it was the focal point for the neighborhood. Neighborhood as seen better days and it shows. As you enter the bar is on the left and is relatively small, with about 10 seats. Rest of the front is tables and then kitchen and then a back room for extra tables. Several TV's are usually turned to sports or the news. Atmosphere is very local but you will also get families and work groups in. Draft beer line-up is always pretty good with lots of Michigan and midwest regional micros on tap.
Menu is typical bar-oriented theme but the burgers they have are some of the best around.
The Corner Bar is a nice place to get away and have a few quality pints of ale and a nice burger.
Also have large walk-in humidor in the back.

After closing briefly awhile back, The Corner Bar and Grill reopened under new ownership. Nothing much has changed with the exception of the walk in cigar humidor, which was taken by the original owner. A few cigars are still sold here however. The original food recipies still remain.
The Corner Bar and Grill is a definate throwback, a rather plain looking neighborhood bar in an older section of town. The inside is mainly decorated with ancient beer memorabilia. The bar itself is not too large, and usually crowded, and there are several different dining areas.
The food is very good. Nothing fancy, but great burgers and ribs at reasonable prices. Service has always been friendly on my visits.
Lastly, the beer of course. Michigan beers are well represented on tap, with selections from Founders, New Holland, Arcadia, and Bells. There are also several decent imports on tap, a couple of Great Lakes Brewing selections, and of course the macros. The bottle selection, while not great compared to classic beer bars, is still well above average for a place of this type. Around 50 different bottled beers or more.
If you enjoy the neighborhood bar type places, the Corner Bar and Grill will suit your needs quite well. Great food, good beer, and friendly people.

The Corner Bar is a local favourite in Kazoo, the neighbourhood is a bit run down, yes, but the bar is still worth the trip, particularly if you like burgers.
The bar boasts 18 taps, but many of those taps are taken up by macro swill that most BA's probably aren't interested in. Some locals are always lurking though, and the selection of bottles is decent (Celebrator and Expy both on hand) but nothing spectacular.
The food is the reason most people visit though, if you like burgers, the Corner Bar is one of the best in the area. Their signature burger is the pastrami and swiss great burger, which is just what it sounds like. Olive burgers, canadian bacon burgers, and feta burgers amongst many others also lurk on the menu. I love their selection, and I have yet to have a bad meal there.
Atmosphere is quirky, random old beer signs, torn up booths, sports on TV, yeah, it's a local place no question, but they have their charm.
On a side note: the Corner Bar is also widely known as a cigar afficianados paradise, they have their own humidifier and seperate section for that, not my thing, but worth noting.

Local, and have not been to the corner bar is some time (since new owner and removal of humidor). The place is the same hole in the wall bar it was in the years past (minus the humidor). By no means a sports bar (only a couple TVs). The walls are plastered with old beer memorabilia. They had a large selection on the chalk board for me to get excited about. I ordered 3 different beers and they were out of all three. So needless to say settling for a 4th I was not happy. It was a bad experience this time (used to be a decent place). Hopefully it was just a bad week for beer there, cause stating you have all those "good" beer and not actually having them was a disgrace. Prices were reasonable to inexpensive, and the food was decent. But I went for the beer, hence the lower score.
