Waldschlössen Zwickelbier
tasted at the brauerei vom fass, 30 December 2013
,5L €3,20

Appearance: Gold. Hazy. Rocky, bright white head rising above the rim of the glass. Excellent head retention and lacing.

Smell: Yeast in the nose. Some malt, fewer hops.

Taste: Lightly sweet golden malt. Very soft noble hop flavor. Mid-level bitterness. Southern Germany hop profile. Balanced but leaning towards malt. Drying in the finish with a hint of yeasty sulfur.

Mouthfeel: Medium to medium-light in body. Soft, moderate, very fine bubbled carbonation that leaves it mainly smooth (and almost creamy).

Overall: Quite nice. Remarkably drinkable. The yeast adds an additional bit of complexity that keeps it interesting.
