It's been a while since I had this beer, but it came up in conversation with a friend today, and thought I'd share what I recall of it.
I shared a flip-top 2-liter bottle (yes, two liters!) with friends celebrating New Years Eve in Germany several years ago. It poured a rich, red-brown color, similar to dark cherry wood stain, with a thin head that didn't last long.
I don't recall specific details of the smell, but it was what I expected from a dopplebock, and was a good predictor of the taste; there were no surprises, because it tasted very much like it smelled. I love a good dopplebock, and this one did not disappoint.
Overall it was a very good doppelbock. The only disappointment was that it disappeared from the stores after the holidays and I was unable to find it again before we left the country.

Identical bottle/labelling to that shown above^.
Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country, zero reviews below read (yet!)...
L- Lovely rich red/deep-amber. Pours with a 1Cm fine-bubble tan head.
S- Quite mild though might almost have a tiny sliver of a fruit note in it (cherry or... ?).
T- Deep, trad, loads of heavy malt, + there's almost a very subtle spicy liquor aspect here. Aspects remind me of those same flavours from trad Brit Xmas pudding.
F- A great slow-sipping winter beer. Give it a chance to get the chill off right from the fridge; it opens up.
O- Very nice, goes down a treat. Though is pretty full-on so not something I'd choose to drink too often.
Review/scoring all done, now the reveal, I get to read the bottle lables to see what I missed!
500ml bottle BB: 10-2021 £4 Bought from TremblingMadness, York/UK as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.

Body is light mahogany, wood varnish brown, quite light for the style. A pinky brown head that contains a strong alcohol punch. Smell is faint, slightly boozy but not much else given away. Taste is of raisins, chocolate, and has a fruit liqueur feel to it . Body quite thin for the style and high abv. Finish is sweet and boozy. Nice but a bit too much alcohol.

De Hopt. Viendo La Casa se Papel 1x01. En vaso hefe de Bavaria. Birrote epico. Riquisimo dulzor acaramelado tostado con una buena dosis de amargor bien integrada. Deja con ganas de mas a pesar de su abv y formato (50cl)

Pours a clear, deep, dark amber coloration with a medium, foamy head. Smell is quite subdued, not much aroma there at all. Very slight hints of caramel malt, brown sugar and booze coming through, although the nose improves slightly as the beer warms. Taste is quite sweet, being dominated by caramel malt and brown sugar. Some bready malt and dark fruits coming through as well: raisin, fig, along with a mild herbaceous note, clove and just a hint of licorice. Finishes quite bittersweet, with a light bitterness and booziness. Medium body and carbonation.
This reminds me a lot of Salvator being quite sweet and boozy, but is a bit more complex and better balanced. Still a bit too sweet/boozey for my taste though, especially as it warms, which really brings out the booziness.

Swing top bottle; October 17 drink by --
Color is ok ok the red/light side for the style but head dissipated almost immediately; smell and taste are very sweet/syrupy for style; mouthfeel is a bit watery with mild cloy and moderate carb; not great for the style but for Germany an ok beer.

Beautifully executed doppelbock. Dark amber with thin silky head, nice sourish malty aroma. taste is even richer with hints of caramel, toffee, butterscotch, malt, buttery smooth and soft lingering on the palate. A treasure to enjoy!

A meal in a glass! Pours a beautiful dark brown with a substantial light tan head. The aroma is an indication of what is to follow on the palate: roasted malts, yeast, dark fruits, caramel, a hint of chocolate. Rich, creamy mouthfeel, nice warmth from the alcohol. Overall: outstanding. It's everything you need in a beer.
