Enjoyed on tap at Huber Haus in Omaha, NE in spring 2012
Review from notes
Served in a dimpled Weihenstephan mug

Arrives with a huge head that settles to a 0.5cm cap of foam atop the beer. Lacing is significant, a variety of shapes or patterns clinging to the sides of the glass. Body is a golden orange color, transparent with plenty of visible carbonation.

Malty, bready aroma with flowery hop presence are the dominant scents, with a background that is slightly grainy and honey-like. Not overly complex, but fairly deep and rich, allowing for it to be enjoyably breathed in frequently.

Opens with fairly bright, though still heavy in intensity, caramel malts, backed up by mild honey-like flavors and hop bitterness that is attenuated just under the malt. Mid-palate picks up waves of malt complexiy, from light to fairly caramelized malt sugars. Hop presence becomes somewhat flowery and slightly bitter. This is followed on back of tongue by darker malt sweetness and flowery hops. Lingering bitterness with mild caramel sweetness in the aftertate.

Medium-bodied with carbonation that is at first crisp, then peters out and leads to a smooth mouthfeel. Aftertaste is semi-dry, with some stickiness from malts.

Part of a new limited edition series.

White head. Color is a clear golden yellow.

Flavor profile: Bready/biscuity malts. Very grassy and earthy hops. Clean, noble hops. Some caramel malts, but very light on that. Maybe a slight note of some kind of fruit.

Mouthfeel: Crisp and clean. Lighter bodied. Ends a bit dry.

Overall, an decent bock, but nothing over the top. I feel like schells maifest competes with this at 1/4 of the price.

Bottle is dated BBD: 08/14.

A loud pop as the seal is broken, it pours foamily into a sturdy mug, showing off a bright saturated amber gold tone. Sparse rising carbonation, long lasting dense soufflé foam resting on the surface, an inch in width.

Sweet bready aromas, bread dough and lightly grassy hops.

Taste is pleasant, malty and smooth with a good dose of grassy noble hops, more than most other Hacker Pschorr brews. Light orange and biscuit notes. Feel is smooth and supple, medium bodied and very drinkable. Lingering grassy hop aftertaste. This is a great bock, only a hint of sweetness, and well balanced with understated hop bitterness. Recommended.

This exquisite and limited German brew pours a fairly light golden-amber in my Hacker-Pschorr stein. Head of carbonation is substantial and lace is lovely and detailed.

Aroma is toasty grains, with a tinge of caramel and bread. Maybe a bit of citrus in there, too. Definitely appealing.

Flavor is more of the same -- toasty bread, yeast, and caramel malts. A hint of hoppy citrus arrives just around the finish, making this a delightful and well-rounded brew. Superb and well worth finding.

Appearance: Light orange color. Half a finger of head on the pour which settled in to a thin layer on the top while drinking. Above average active carbonation. Light random lacing left behind at each level.

Smell: Light fruit and some grassy hop tones on the front. Solid bready yeast body. Very pleasant buttery notes. Mild peppery spices toward the back end.

Taste: Malty front with airy buttery dough. The body is some potent hops with tones of straw, pine, and light fruits. Bready yeast tones continue throughout and ride into the finish. Lingering hops dance on the palate long after drinking.

Mouthfeel: Extremely clean mouthfeel. Carbonation is done perfectly. Palate is challenged but this still an incredibly easy drinking brew. Some sticky malt keeps you wanting more.

Overall: An excellent lager. The hop tones add an extra twist which really makes this a memorable brew. A beer you could drink all day long and not get tired of.

Served on tap in a 10 oz chalice glass

Appearance- Served a straw golden colored brew with a one finger white head. The head had a moderate level of retention, fading over time to give a light level of lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma is rather light overall and is mainly of a sweeter caramel smell mixed with some grainy aromas. Mixed with these smells is a light bit of floral hop in the nose.

Taste – The taste begins with a bready and malty taste with a rather moderate amount of a caramel sweetness. Some other fruity flavors come to the tongue more toward the middle, with their nature being of lighter fruits, such as apple and pear. More toward the end the caramel fades a bit while the bready and some slightly grainy flavor of the brew are met with an arrival of a lightly herbal and floral hop flavor that leave a nice, still sweet, and malty flavor to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel –The body of the beer is on the average to slightly thicker side with a carbonation that is on the average to slightly lower side. Both do well for accentuating the malts and grain quite well, but yet do not sacrifice the drinkability and smoothness of the brew.

Overall – A rather tasty, quite easy drinking, malty and somewhat sweeter bock. A good one to try.

Served in a pint.

Appearance: crisp gold, little carbonation as far as looks are concerned, white head rising to roughly half an inch.

Smell: smell is light caramel and hops, very light though.

Taste: surprisingly complex, might've a been little sweet but offset with slight bitterness.

Mouth: Medium and very smooth. After taste sticking very well.

Overall: the reality is , is that this beer is good but it is your tastier pilsener...that's not a bad thing it is something more for you're adventurous side.
