12oz bottle served in a tumbler as part of marzen month. Best by date of 5-12 clearly visible on the bottle. Sampled 10/19/11.
A- pours a dull brown. Minimal head.
S- caramel, dry malt (uncharacteristically so). Very smooth.
T- Sweet, toasty finish. Really needs 1 more dimension of depth here...
M- above-average amount of body for the style. Could use a bit more carbonation.
O- a pretty decent marzen. Labeled "amber" and I'll buy into that. Not a lot of faults with this one, but fails to wow me.
edit- I'm surprised to see this ranked as high as it is. I didn't find many flaws, but found this a bit bland. I'll likely revisit this in the future to see if I was off when tasting.
