A - Hazy, straw colored. A good amount of carbonation and a very large head. Minor amounts of lacing.

S - The smell is wheaty and vaguely citrus. Not quite as large of a nose as its fellow Hefeweizen/Hefeweissbier Weihenstephaner. It does have its own character though; one which is very pleasing.

M - Crisp and refreshing. Leaves a wheaty aftertaste. It isn't too heavy or too light- its just right.

T - If one was to subtract most of the banana element from Weihenstephaner, leave the clove, add a little more wheat, reduce the carbonation, and reduce the sweetness, one would have Hacker-Pschorr. Truly, a smooth and great tasting Hefeweizen.

D - The drinkability factor is where Hacker excels. Due to reduced sweetness, this beer is more drinkable than Weihenstephaner. In fact, though I prefer the taste of Weienstephaner, if one was to enter the world of Hefeweizens for the first time I would recommend Hacker over Weihenstephaner because of its drinkability. Considering it retains more of a wheaty beer taste, it would be much easier for the non-Hefeweizen beer drinker to relate to.

Ahhhh a nice wheat beer. I do love my stouts but a good refreshing beer like that right after work is genius. Got a lightning closure on this one. Looks really old school with a picture of Georg Pschorr, the dude that made the brewery what it is today.

Served in a ''Blanche de Chambly'' weizen glass. As the name suggest, the cap just popped like crazy spraying me with a bit of beer when I opened it... Almost felt like good old Georg had just spat in my face to tell you the truth. The Hefe has got a NICE orangy-hay color that looks like an inverted tequila sunrise because of the conic bottom of the glass showcasing the hay at the bottom and leaving it's place for the orange/copper at the top. Cloudy and bright orangy when held up to a light. A thick creamy head that hangs around and almost looks yeasty (is that possible...?). Looks good!

Before even putting the glass up to my nose, I could already smell the banana coming from the beer. A little bit of bread, a little bit of citrus, nothing overpowering. First sip reveals a creaminess that I was not expecting. A good carbonation but really fine. Hits you more in the back of the throat than on the tongue.

I get a light banana taste up front then some earthy/bready notes and the finale is all about the orange. I may get some pear on the mix too. Aftertaste is almost absent and burp just taste like beer... As you drink it, you get some thick lacing that kinda remind me of those animal shaped chicken nugget. It eventually thins out. The alcohol really hides itself well in this smooth beer. But you can definitely feel it once you've finished the whole 500ml bottle.

Mr. Pschorr, you have impressed me. A really good German hefeweizen that you should really give a try.

A German Hefe. Maybe I was expecting too much. Overall appearance was good, smell was ok. First drink hit me at the front with a touch of skunk. It went away fast but kind of turned me off. Overall a nice beer, just though it could use just a touch of smoothing out. Definitely a wheat but almost, just barely fell towards the category of a mass produced, less refined beer. Sorry, just my opinion...
