Our unfiltered Hacker-Pschorr Weissbier is naturally cloudy, full-flavoured and uniquely refreshing. Georg Pschorr – in his day owner of the Pschorr brewery and a man of true foresight - spread word of this exquisite and enjoyable Hefe-Weissbier and made it popular beyond the borders of Bavaria.

An excellent German hefe, although these ratings do not reflect it. Pours a cloudy light orange with a big, puffy white head. Aroma of bananas, cloves, and wheat. Taste is very balanced, with a lot of the wheat and yeast coming through. Nice bananas and spice in the finish. Nothing is overpowering, but all the flavors you expect are there.

Received a bottle in a trade 6-3-23. Has a 10.23 presumable expiration date. Sampled 10-16-23.

Beer poured deep gold with a beautiful white head.

Nose is nice with phenolic notes of bubble gum and of course the wheat base.

Taste follows the nose as the wheat base is the canvas for the yeast to impart a traditional bubble gum and cloves flavor. Finishes balanced with an adequate amount of noble hops.

Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and fairly smooth.

Overall a solid hefe!

A: Pours a golden/orange color. With just a bit of haze throughout, a dense white head forms with excellent retention and sticky lace left as the foam gently recedes.
S: Fruity esters, banana, apples. Peppery spice, baked bread all intermingle, snappy wheat. Simple, excellent and very nice.
T: Esters up front, not all banana. Though that is certainly a noticeable component, but also more apple . A little caramel apple like, with just a touch of sweetness. The doughy, biscuit, baked bread like malts, along with snappy wheat to make this all balanced. As is the wonderful peppery spice, that is just enough to dry this out. Excellent.
M/O: A medium to fullish body, with crisp carbonation at first. Though that becomes wonderfully smooth. Finishes semi dry, and this is something I can down in big gulps. As my favorite "drinkability" saying goes.

A wonderful example of the style. I don't know why I haven't reviewed this before, but one of my favorite traditional German versions of the style I can get my hands on. Lots of character, all around balanced, and very moreish. Can't ask for much more than that.

Cloves in the aroma. Distinctly a Hefeweizen, though the label just call it “Weissbier.” It is, however, less cloudy than most Hefes, more of an orangey color with plenty of foam in the tumbler. Quite malty and somewhat sweet. Moderate yeasty flavors with some spice and a hint of banana. Pleasant mouth-filling brew that finishes more watery and refreshing. One of the better Hefeweizens. From the 1 Pint can purchased at the beer store for $2.50. Canned 12/12/2022 with a 12 month “best by” date.

L: poured into a pint glass decanting half way through. Deep copper color. Thick 1.5 inch head of tight bubbles that slowly settles cleanly on the glass. Opaque with thin bubble fountains from the bottom of the glass. Remaining Yeast rings the bottom of the empty bottle.
S: crisp wheat, bananas
T: cloves kick in addition to the bananas and wheat brought forward from the nose.
F: carbonation reforms with each drink and pleasant activation in a long pull; but not overpowering or unpleasant at all.
O: one of my favorites and the Hefeweizen that all others are judged against. Thank you, Hacker Pschorr brewery for staying the course!

16.9 oz can into a tall Weiss glass.
L: Pours medium hazed dark orange with a 1.5" creamy rocky off white head that has excellent retention, medium low carbo, light lacing.
S: Caramel malts, apple, earthy grains, background fruit, light banana.
T: All tastes are airy & light: a hint of green apple, caramelized malts, grains, wheat, yeast, very light bread, moderately fruity with indistinguishable fruits, gentle sweet finish, not much after taste.
F: Zippy medium light feel with a super fast dry finish.
O: A clean and EZ drinking Hefe, nice active feel, totally crushable. It is excellent in its style.
