Lightish amber beer was topped by a thin head that left pretty good lace despite the fading head. Grainy nose with hint of citrus. Taste was in your face grapefruity hops, very unique for a pale ale. Good malty base as well. Hops linger and coat your mouth, yuet not too much. Easy drinking at 5.0 ABV. A very nice beer from a class act ultra small brewery. Had at a small Pub and Pizzeria up on the North Coast.

03/09/06- On tap at the Toronado in San Francisco, CA
Presentation- Via the tap into a standard pint glass.
Appearance- A darker golden pour, maybe approching an amber coloration. 1/2 inch creamy head with average lacing.
Smell- Fresh grapefruit hoppy scent. A nice touch of roasted malt as well.
Taste- Has that same kind of odd taste as most Pyramid brews have. Think it's the yeast strain, but I could be wrong. Other than that, it has a nice even ratio between the malt and hops. Soft muted grapefruit flavor, which makes them nice and juicy. Pretty heavily toasted malt background.
Mouthfeel- Super creamy, lower carbonation and silky smooth.
Drinkability- Not really keen on the yeast flavor, but otherwise it's a pretty good beer that is an easy drinker.
