On draught at the Monk's Kettle, Uncle Ollie is dark gold with a creamy white head, tight and rocky, long last, light lace.

Smell is mild, sweet and floral, and a touch of dirty dish-water.

Taste is very earthy, woody, stemmy. Very light cereal sweetness.

Mouthfeel is light, a little watery.

Drinkability is not too high. Historically interesting, but taste is truth, and this doesn't taste very good. Drink from a hollow log, than stay here in frisco...

This is another Moonlight beer that I had at Flavor some months ago and am only putting on here now, from my notes of course.

Deep bronze, it has a medium-big off-white head steadily shrinking to lasting thin foamy top and lace.

Aroma is green grass, garbanzo beans, hint of peanut.

Taste is grass, grain, hint os raisins, peanuts (stronger in finish and after), nice balance of sweet and bitter, both light. It is another unique and different beer from Moonlight, very good but not up there for me with some of the other Moonlight idiosyncratic beers like Artemis. The peanut quality is actually good and is better than it may sound but I don't love it.

On-tap at Beachwood I,

A: Pours amber with a somewhat cloudy look, some gobby lace.

S: Dead leaves and weeds, not very appetizing.

T: The taste gets better. Still has a bit of that grungy character, but it gives way to a nice note of apricot and yellow apple.

M: Crisp, fairly clean, medium-bodied, not too drinkable.

O: A weird beer, hopless and that can be a strange depature. Worth a shot for a unique experience but just average at the end.
