Definitely my favourite Kolsch- an opinion shared by my aussie brother in law who had spent 10 years living in Koln.
I've had both on tap at their brew house in Koln city centre, and on bottle. Scores based on tap.
Served in 200ml cylindrical glasses straight from the barrel. Pleasingly sparkling and clear with about 2cm of head when the glass is plonked down in front of you.
Best thing about it is the freshness- in nose and in mouth.
it is currently the basis of my beer fridge as well- brought a crate of the (brown glass) 500ml bottles back from our last visit (24 bottles for €18!) and am slowly working my way through them.
For the bottles, i'd probably mark down the smell just by one mark- naturally, not as fresh from the bottle and the beer loses it's extra special quality just a litte bit.

On-tap at the brewery itself. On to the beer:
A thick creamy head tops this golden colored beer, and adding to the experience is a head which retains very well. The nose is soft and appealing, bringing the smell of milled malt and a drop of honey.
Something about the taste is beautiful. Perhaps it helps that I had been drinking a lot of different kolsch during my short stay in Cologne, because this one stands out. It's clean and crisp throughout, and birngs subtle honey, floral, and grape flavors. The bitterness brought to the table is clean, adding the final touch to this beauty.
A very fine kolsch that is very easy to drink. I helped myself to several glasses and had forgotten that the brewery also served two other beers.
