I was visiting the folks on Long Island and decided to try some local brews. This was on tap tonight.

A: Was served to me in a pint glass, with a thin head that lingered and laced the glass as the beer went down. A nice copper-orange hue.

S: Nothing remarkable, mostly toasty malt. But I wouldn't expect too much nose on a simple lager.

T: Smooth, clean lager. Has a nice malt hops balance, with a very toasty, bready finish that lingers on the palate. Malty, but dry. Reminded me of a more sophisticated Yeungling.

M: Light and crisp. Appropriate for the style.

D: Very easy drinking for this one. Good for a session brew.

Pours crystal clear amber color with a nice thick foamy 2 finger off white head that was full of bubbles and faded very slowly, leaving OK lacing and a foamy layer on top.

Smells of malt, caramel, lightly roasted grains, light floral hops and sweet bready notes; malt dominant with soft sweetness, this is a pretty basic nose.

Taste has more hop presence, with dry floral hops and some lemon zest in the mix that combines with the same lineup as the nose: malt, caramel, lightly roasted grains, biscuit, sweet bready notes like cinnamon raisin bread, and some toffee. The finish has a little hop nip, but trails off grainy and sweet like a graham cracker. It’s an amped up lager for sure and well above the macro standard, even after the Blue Point acquisition by InBev/AB.

Mouthfeel is smooth with light carbonation, a medium feel and a grainy and sweet aftertaste.

Overall an above average beer that is a nice option in the lager world, especially since it’s made locally to me and always fresh.
