Very enjoyable beer. When this brew arrived very little head was left. Not sure if it dwindled down before arrival or what. Loved the nose. Nice chocolates, coffee, roasted. Complimented this brew with some red velvet cake, went very well! The decadent notes in the beer with the decadent flavors of the cake are hard to beat. Nice smooth mouth feel. Definitely something I would drink again.

Well, this is a weird beer. It looks tasty, the mouthfeel is great, the aroma is solid if perhaps a touch over-roasted, but there's something just a little bit off on the taste. If I knew more about how to catch beers with infections that haven't fully taken over yet, I might be able to describe it better, because I have a sneaky feeling that's what's going on here. There's a tart, slightly fruity flavor in the back that really doesn't fit the beer's flavor profile. It's too bad, because this would be a tasty one otherwise.

22 ounce bomber

It's extremely dark. There's simply nothing light about it. The head is a bit thin and not all that impressive and that's what keeps the score down.

As you'd imagine, it's a malt bomb. There's a bit of a chocolately scent to it, but caramel dominates. Slight anise and vanilla hint to it.

There's some malt to it, as well as a splash of hops, but it's lacking in lots of things. Caramel is all that really comes through and it mostly tastes like a watered down coke.

Needs some work. It's got a thin, watery feel. Somehow, it finishes with a carbonated bite but there's something missing that binds everything together. It's got a smoothness to it, but the watery feel early on and the carbonated feel in the swallow keep the smoothness underwhelming.

It's an easy drinker. ABV is only moderate at best. There's no alcohol or hop presence. It looks and smells pretty good, but it tastes and feels more like a water down soft drink.

The latest offering from my Long Island beer haul.

Dark brown with a peaceful blanket of beige retention. Leaves a few flakes of retention but not much. A dusting of lace if you will.

Char, ash and Raisinettes at first sip. That ruckus fades after a bit and leaves a quite pleasing dry roast oat aroma.

Tastes like watery chocolate and odd roast malt. There's an off flavor there that this beer is soaked in and I can't place it exactly but another review said chlorine - that's about right. Chlorinated.

This wasn't very good.

Strong aroma has firm tones of roast coffee, semi-sweet chocolate and molasses plus a hint of honey. It is sweet but not cloying or repulsive. Pours a deep sable just a whisker or two above black with a thick, fluffy and rather persistent light tan head. Flavor, unfortunately, does not quite live up to the very tempting aroma. It has the mocha and molasses tones that the aroma promised, but these are on the wan and watery side. Texture has watery body and not much fizz. Finish is smoky with coffee, chocolate and caramel notes. OK, not great, but worthy of at least a try.

A - Dark brown pour with a white foam. Lacing streaks down the glass. Foam retention is minimal.

S - Nice scent of dark chocolate, toffee, and oat flakes. There is a slight smell of sweet maple syrup as well.

T - Has an early sweetness of rich chocolate. The body of this beer is full of rich, dark, malt. Finish has a hearty finish of oatmeal, and syrup.

M - For a 5% stout this feels much heavier. Balance is good. Easy drinking stout. Leaves a rich cocoa flavor on the palate.

O - One of me favorites from Blue Point. Wish this was in a 6 pack.

22oz bottle from Lucky's (Woodstock, GA). 3.99. No bottling date. Served in a Wild Heaven snifter.

Pours flat black with a half finger head that neither stays around very long nor leaves lace.

Sweet, metallic and a bit earthy sour nose.

Bitter dark chocolate, sweet sourdough bread, burn caramel and sour cherries.

Thin but slightly oily feel with light but apparent carbonation.

Overall a dissapointment. There are way too many good stouts around for me to ever revisit this.
