A - Clear, copper color with one finger of off-white head and no lacing.
S - Little to no aroma. I couldn't determine any distinctive characteristics.
T - Grainy, bready malts, light sweetness. Lingering citrus hops. A well-balanced flavor.
M - Medium body, wet, with medium carbonation.
O - Well balanced, complex, and enjoyable. The lack of any aromas was a bit of a letdown.

12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass.
Appearance: Pours a dark ruby with a very minimal head. Lacing is minimal. Looks like an attractive amber ale. Very similar in presentation to Brooklyn's winter ale, but less head. Carbonation fairly heavy.
Aroma: This has a nice array of aromas, with dark fruits and some chocolate notes dominating. Hops are present and add a nice bite to a pretty malt-forward ale. Alcohol is unnoticeable. Some bread and toffee in the nose as well.
Taste: This is a good, straight-forward amber. It's another of these seasonals that sort of baffle me with why they are seasonal, because it's a pretty conventional interpretation of a familiar style. Could work for three seasons, maybe four. The flavors follow the nose - malts, dark fruits, some chocolate. Not wildly complex, but definitely enjoyable.
Mouthfeel: The body of this beer adds to its drinkablity. It's not watery-thin, but not overbearingly heavy either. "Accessible" is a good word for it.
Overall: A solid session amber. A good companion on a cold winter night on Long Island, like the one I'm in the middle of. Paired well with food (lentil sloppy Joes and Brussels sprouts). You do have to wonder what will happen to Blue Point in the wake of the A-B purchase.
