Poured very appropriately for a double or imperial IPA. Strong smells of hop and alcohol. First taste is a big wow. Strong everything. Unfortunately as my mouth got used to the strong tastes, I began to notice the slickness of the liquid and it wasn't pleasant.
I'm sorry to say that this one certainly packs all its punches in the first blow. Sort of deteriorates as the glass empties.
Try one. But don't buy a whole case (or a whole growler) unless you know better.

I wish this bottle was fresher. There is no date on the bottle or label but judging by the labels this is supposed to be a hoppy lil bitch. Instead its deep and rich but all malt. The pour is a beautiful cloudy amber color with a thin tan head and very decent lacing. The nose is sweet and malty with caramel and toffee notes. Flavor follows suit and is very rich but also very sweet. I'm sure that this is not how this was meant to taste but it is what it is. Very good but not what I expected. Should be a lot better.

Second offering enjoyed by Blue Point Brewing Company. Loved the label on he bottle and had to try it.
Appearance- Light poor into tulip glass, somewhat hazy copper color with a one finger head, Good retention on the lacing.
Smell- Mostly sweet malts with some hops present.
Taste- Once again the sweet malts are picked up, not a bitter hop bomb as the label might suggest, 93 IBU,s. Alcohol well hidden.
Mouth-Feel- Light carbonation with a smooth consistency.
Overall- For an imperial beer I would have expected more hop bitterness, but this might be due to the age of the beer, no date given on label. It is sad that this has been retired I would like to have tried it again maybe with a fresher bottle or on tap. I hope more offerings are to come from Blue Point . Cheers.
