Taken from my beer journal dated 3/9/12

Appearance: 22oz bottle poured into a Duvel tulip. Colour is a nice brownish copper. Finger-thick head slowly fades leaving a healthy lacing. Mild amount of visible carbonation.

Smell: Nice balance of malts, strong hops, a hint of alcohol, and just a touch of bubblegum.

Taste: Hops are king here - strong, bitter, citrus, and slightly floral. Sweet malts offer a nice balance. A strong yet simple taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium body offers a soft and gentle feel with a nice carbonated bite.

Overall: A solid brew from Blue Point. It succeeds in having a simple, almost even predictable flavour without being boring.

Gotta love all the silly ransom letter rants and skulls on the bottle... yawn (this screams need to be "extreme" rather than just being good)
anyway, here goes the beer...

eyes...
2 full fingers of fluffy white foam with a hint of audible sizzle, hazy straw orange tone, rush hour traffic of carbonation races up throughout the glass keeping the head quite alive, lacing is good, an absolutely nice looking beer from out on the point

nose...
brownish herbal hops, hint of alcohol peeking out from behind the sweet malt, it smells like an english ESB on crack

taste etc...
the malts are extremely sweet, the hops used are not the type best for mega hopping (to my pallete), it is not overly bitter but the hops don't have that really nice alpha kick and wind up tasting old-ish, the beer is very drinkable aside from that... in terms of the bite it really hides the ABV REALLY well and has a super nice slick/thick mouthfeel

verdict?
this really reaches near my limit of sweetness, I prefer alpha hops. this just isn't my thing, it isn't bad but it is not in my wheelhouse flavor wise. This brewery should learn how to make a nice hoppy IPA before moving on to this style imo.

A: This poured a hazy copper with a little of white head.
S: It smelled like nectarine and citrus and rye bread.
T: It tasted like nectarine and citrus and rye bread. It had a mostly clean bitter aftertaste.
M: It was thick with a little carbonation. Nice full body.
D: This was a decent drink, but really nothing special. The scent and taste and body were average. It had a smooth finish with well hidden alcohol, so it was easy to drink. Meh.

Apparently not retired here at Pies & Pints in Middlebury, CT. This stuff is a clear copper color with a decent off-white skin of head and beautiful cascading lace. The aroma is a solid bit of pine-citrus hop and grain malt but I also detect some grassy alcohol. The flavor follows this idea with caramel malt and more pissy citrus/pine hops. Again I get some astringent grassiness mixed in and some alcohol which tempers the mellowed woodsy character that shows up initially. The body is medium with a wispy carbonation and somewhat slick feel. There's a bit of cinnamon nutmeg spice to it as well. Very good DIPA.

Picked up a growler fill at Got-Ta-Go in Chambersburg, PA. Poured into a mason jar that I got from the wedding we were at this weekend. No glassware at the hotel.

Appearance: This beer poured a two finger head that reduced to a thin layer and left some nice lacing on the glass. It is a nice copper color with good clarity and bubbles coming up through the glass.

Smell: Caramel and toffee, fruity, a little booze, citrus, and grassy hops.

Taste: Same as above with the hops a little hidden behind the sweet malts. A little bitterness in the end, but mostly balanced.

Mouthfeel: Smooth, low to medium carbonation, medium to full bodied, a little dry, and a little tingly bitterness.

Overall: Pretty solid DIPA here folks. So happy to get this growler filled while traveling through PA.
