Pours copper with a slight fizzy head. The aroma is slight and malty. The flavor is malty and slightly woody, with a little hit of floral hops and a sneaky bitterness. A little bitter lemon sneaks through. The mouthfeel is spritzy and fluffy. but ultimately rather thin.

Poured into a standard pint glass a clear deep copper with a tightly formed 1/2 finger white head that held well.toasty bread and nutty maltiness mixed with some leafy/herbal hops,a nice combo. The feel was prickly in the mouth and I couldnt get over that,it really took away alot from the flavors for me.Nutty and toasted on the palate upfront with a decent shot of earthy, leafy hops in the finish, not bad at all.The beer has alot going for it it has good balance but the mouthfeel for me kept my score a little lower than it should have been.

12 ounce bottle purchased at Abe's in Bethlehem for $2. Poured into my shaker "pint" glass. Appears a crystal clear copper color with about a sixteenth of an inch of off white foam. Minimal lacing is left on the inside of my glass as I make my way to the bottom. Smells and tastes of bready grains, caramel malts, mild spiciness, light flowery hops, citrus fruits such as lemon. Pretty tasty, slightly bitter and dry. Medium in body with medium to moderate carbonation. I'd buy it again.

Poured from a 12-ounce bottle into a Ro's Restaurant pint glass.

A: Poured a light copper color with great clarity and a lively stream of carbonation. Head is thin, creamy and white.

S: Smells slightly zesty and grainy, with a bit of lemongrass and herbal aromas.

T: Taste is a little sweet and metallic at first before grassy, bitter hops spread across the palate. Very lightly toasted caramel malt with a snappy, slightly acrid, clean hop finish.

M: Mouthfeel is light-medium bodied and perhaps a bit too carbonated, or sharp.

D: Good to have a couple or throw in as a spacer brew on a hot day. I wouldn't pick up a 6 or 12-pack myself, but it's slightly creamy, light bitter and sessionable.

I was a little disappointed with the Spring Fling, as I've become a bit of a Blue Point fan over the last year or so. Just turned out to be sort of mediocre.

A_pours a hazy orange with a frothy nice looking white head. Halos of white lace cling together like rock strata here. Real nice looking

S_smell is mild. Slighlty malty

T_the taste is not what I was quite expecting. Tastes kind of like grape juice but not sweet. Nice citric/grassy hop buzz behind it and a faint black pepper spice in the aftertaste.

M_moderately creamy in feel.

D_I had this not knowing what it is and I thought it was an ale brewed with grapes. Very distinct taste here. Not quite sure if I like it or not.

A - Golden approaching amber color. Not a great head, which faded to lacing pretty quickly

S - Malty aroma with a good bit of lighter crystal malt in there.

T - Bready flavor to go along with the pale malts, a definite toastiness to it. Some earthy hops. This does not taste like an APA to me, much more English.

M - Nice clean refreshing finish. Would say it is a bit heavy for an American pale, but this seems right on for English style.

D - Goes down clean and easy, will appeal to a wide range of people.

Pours a light brown tinted amber, decent cream colored head, little lacing. Scent is dominated by sweet malt, with a muddled earthy and light citrus hop presence. Taste again controlled by a lightly sweet and nutty malt, some earthyness to the hops with limited citrus. Medium bodied, fairly creamy, decent carbonation. Like many of Blue Points beers, this tends to lean more towards an English influence than American.

The aroma is pretty average for a pale ale with a decent balance of hops and malt. The appearance is light amber with a foamy head that fades to nothing. The taste is like the aroma with a hoppy finish. The palate is smooth. Overall its a very good beer but nothing spectacular.

Appearance: Clear copper body, one finger head with great retention. Lacing is right on.

Aroma: Sweet malt mostly. Not a lot going on here.

Taste: Mild hops and sweet malt. Pretty low-key taste but easy drinking.

Feel/Drink: Nice crisp mouthfeel, great drinkability.

This was described to me as a "spring beer" and I'm never really sure what that means. What stood out to me was that it was very dark (particularly for a "pale ale") and it didn't have as much flavor and aroma as I wanted it to. Even for how dark it was i hoped it would taste maltier.

This brewery makes a lot of beers but non are real stand outs for me. The fact that it's local makes it more appealing, however.

First had: on tap at the Pour House, Westmont, NJ

A very nice pale ale. Poured nut brown with a nice white head that stayed throughout, and left some beautiful lacing. Aroma was basically toasty malts. Taste of malts mostly, with some subtle, crisp hops in the background. A little bitterness in the aftertaste. Light-medium mouthfeel, and definitely easy drinkability. Tasty and refreshing.

Blue Point Spring Fling

Pours a brownish copper, decent sized off white head and some lacing on the glass. Aroma is floral and hoppy with a bit of malt sweetness. In the taste, some pine, even bitterness and a firm malty backbone. Fairly hoppy for the style. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied. Overall a nice hoppy pale ale, knows its place and is good at that.

12 oz bottle served in a Belgian Snifter.

Pours a clear, deep amber; a shade darker than average for style.

Flavor: good balance, if a bit higher in the malt/hop ration than usual for style.

Feel: crisp, near medium body with a semi-dry finish.

O: well balanced, slightly mild version of an APA.

Didn't know this beer existed. Pours an exceptionally clear copper color, with an average white head. Mild hops in the aroma and a bready malt. Glad that there wasn't a buttery aroma like their other brews. The taste is of a slightly bitter hop, not floral or citrus, just a tad bitter. A healthy malt body to balance out any hop bitterness, perhaps a touch of caramel malt. A fairly light brew, good carbonation, leans on the bitter side. A decent APA, could use a bit more of a floral hop presence. The bitterness is there but not that nice grassy flavor.
