a clean copper pour with a slight amount of white foam around brim of glass. smells of sweet malts, roasting caramel, nutty, rye.
taste is slightly sweet up front with a nice nutty flavor. backbone is all rye. slightly bready with hints of banana on the finish. a very unique tasting rye ale with a medium body, patchy lacing with a slight creamy feel on the lips, and high, yet subtle carbonation.
as far as rye ales go, this is a hit. a very sweet beer throughout with a copper-like bitterness that follows minutes after the glass is over. you just feel it calling to you to drink some more! a very tasty pour and quite complex for a rye ale.
